Kohae Lounge and Bakery is a beacon of light. This lovely space sitting along the Klipspruit Valley Rd, just a stone throw away from the newly revamped Orlando Stadium. It is colloquially known as “killer road” because of so many lives that have been lost through the past violence of the struggle for political, racial and educational freedom. And it cannot be more befitting for a start of new life

in the area. The Kohae Greening Project is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project that aims to create environmental awareness and “greening” of Kohae and its surrounding area. The project intends to do this through phase by phase practical environmental solutions that can be replicated and expanded upon as time continues. In essence the project is a pilot to lead the way by being the change through small attainable goals that lead to a larger more widespread goal to help our environment by saving tomorrow, today.

Greening Soweto has been a project and mandate for many departments and organisation yet somehow little to no progress has been seen in sustainable implementation of these initiatives. The Kohae Greening Project is a pilot project of an individual green business that intends to green the area around it by leading through example. The initiating of this greening project will be as follows: 1. Greening Kohae 2. Environmental Awareness and education 3. Landscaping and Planting of trees 4. The Green Revolution™ Campaign 5. The Kohae Green Soweto Expansion Project
