The Koringberg village is situated 146 km north-north-east of Cape Town and 17 km north of Moorreesburg.

Founded at Warren’s Camp in 1923, it was thus named because it is situated in a wheat growing area. The name is Afrikaans and means literally ‘wheat mountain’.

Koringberg Hiking Trails

Did you know that Koringberg has a variety of hiking trails that can be done by amateurs and novices alike? These routes offers exquisite views of the Cederberg & Winterhoek Mountains and the entire Swartland. The 3 circular hiking trails are all clearly marked and are fairly easy, but uneven and can be slippery when wet.

Permits can be optained at the Moorreesburg & Koringberg Tourism Office as well as at our office soon!
