Experiences are hosted by and directly benefit the community leaders, with a portion of the proceeds going to them for their time & 10% of profits going into a kitt

y. Our guides serve as bridge-builders, introducing you to the community. Our experiences are highly interactive, hands-on & unhurried. We offer add-ons that clients love including donations, photoshoots, & pre-ordered meals. Founded in 2018 by social entrepreneur & inclusive tourism activist Jason Woolf, our efforts thus far have mainly been geared toward supporting some of the most promising entrepreneurs & SMME’s in Langa, Cape Town’s oldest township. Woolf has 10+ years of work experience in grassroots & socio-economic development in Cape Town. We are a subsidiary of Side by Side Social Ventures, a family of creative enterprises dedicated to the socio-economic transformation of South Africa into one unified whole.

BOOK AN IMMERSION TOUR NOW!

Tourists are increasingly seeking immersive experiences and hungry to plug into the developmental process at the outskirts of the city they’re visiting. Through Side by Side Immersions, guests visit the townships—most often Langa—to share authentic, immersive experiences hosted by the entrepreneurs entailing story telling, skill-sharing, exchange of ideas, and volunteering.

Immersion Tours are currently co-lead by Side by Side’s founder, Jason Woolf (Volofu on Instagram), a Xhosa-speaking American+South African social entrepreneur & musician; and by community-based entrepreneurs and/or tour guides.
