Our first night at Knysna Hollow Country Estate was just perfect.

Beautifully decorated rooms, so spacious! Sleeper couch for the kiddies are perfect and to top it off a huge garden, 2 pools and a little jungle gym to keep the kids entertained.

It is a stone throw away from main town and thesen island where all the main activities depart from. There are so many incredible restaurants, you really are spoilt for choice, should you not want to dine in at the hollows.

It definitely has our family stamp of approval 🥰

Did you know that it’s the challenging Karoo to Coast taking place this Sunday?

The Lions Karoo to Coast Mountain Bike Challenge is a 100km off road race from UNIONDALE to KNYSNA via the Prince Alfred's Pass. The route is scenic, challenging and riders are encouraged to train sufficiently for this event in order to maximise the enjoyment of the experience.

Ascent: 1560m
Descent: 1815m

Not everyone enjoys camping but most will say they’d enjoy … GLAMPING! … on a budget!

Six self-catering boutique tents are located on the Award-winning Doolhof Wine Estate and each tent sleeps a total of five guests.

After a wonderful time in Victoria Falls the Berndt’s headed off to Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe where they would spend the next 3 nights Linkwasha Camp

When we arrived at Victoria Falls Airport we were greeted by the ever friendly Wilderness Air staff, who ushered us to their airport lounge. The lounge was very comfortable, some WiFi to catch up on the worlds happenings, a beautiful outdoors environment escape for our boy and a delicious coffee and biscuit 🍪 at hand.

Traveller tip: An airport departure tax is due before you take off so make sure you have some dollars to pay for this. Furthermore there is absolutely no ATM at the airport and Linkwasha Camp does not have a credit card facility in camp so ensure you have enough cash for all tipping necessities and so forth before you leave Victoria Falls.

Once through all the checks we were on our way. Our flight was short and sweet, our pilot handled in our eyes small airstrip excellently. When we disembarked our safari game vehicle was already awaiting our arrival.

What can we say about …
We had an incredible stay. First and foremost I want to say that Charles, Winnie and whom we termed Big T was ANSOLUTELY amazing! These special humans made our trip so memorable and we appreciate everything you have done for us. The management team here was so involved, checking in on guests, having conversations with us, just perfect.

Game drives and viewing: The highlight for me was learning so much about tracking from Charles, what signs to look for in the bush rather than just looking for a specific animal. We had the pleasure of seeing some incredible game namely: cheetah, wildebeest, lion, hyenas, and elephants to name a few.

Our room: we had an interleading room which is perfect for families. Very spacious and each room has its own bathroom with a little communal sitting area. The room overlooked the waterhole and was extremely comfortable.

Service, food, location, game viewing, game viewing vehicle was all superb. Would not hesitate to go back again.
