We unfortunately don't see him as often as we use to, but when he makes a appearance it's usually something like this. He is a real model and absolutely pleasure to photograph. A very content and full bellied leopard snoozing in a Marula Tree.

This is the closest I've been to seeing a birth. We came across this new born Nyala calf in the the lodge area. The mother was still licking it clean. Look closely and you can still see some of the ambilical attached. Such a perfect little replica of the adult.

Aren't these spotted hyena cubs the cutest?? and I found their mum snoozing next to the road late one evening. We stopped to take pictures and videos of her, after a minute of two, one of the cubs came out of the den, closely followed by the other one. Because mum was totally relaxed, the little ones came over to explore "the big box" aka our car. I probably don't have to tell you that this was the highlight of the day 😁
Please have a look at the video posted of them yesterday.

Would you vote for the Cape clawless otter as the cutest animal in the Eastern Cape? Like if you agree?

Reposted from Experience the serene beauty of the Sundays River and its abundant natural attractions on the ‘Nukakamma Canoe Expedition’ – South Africa’s only canoe trail to have been awarded Green Flag Status.

The Khoisan named the river ‘Nukakamma’ (grassy water) due to its green, grassy banks and this self-guided trail is one not soon forgotten. Keep an eye out for kudu, bushbuck, porcupines, Cape otters, monkeys and over 200 recorded species of birds on your adventures.

You’ll paddle 13km to the overnight cabin, located right on the banks of the river.
Currently, has a special: 12 guests, pay for only 6.

Dynamite comes in small packages!
Did you know that elephants will walk at the pace of their slowest member? And infants are surrounded by nurturing members of the herd, with their youngest protected from the elements, like the wind, the rain and the sun. Although, this little ellie doesn't look like it needs protection! 🐘
