Celebrating World Oceans Day today! We dived yesterday afternoon and it was just magical, top to bottom viz at Windmill and a nice 15 degrees. Cape Town at its finest!
Here's some shots of the resident cormorant at Longbeach, taken on Saturday.

We dived Windmill yesterday in what can be best described as toilet like conditions! Nevertheless, we had a great, relaxing dive and got to sneak up on unsuspecting pajama sharks and schools of fish. Hopefully the conditions will improve soon so I can take a group out. We will be away this weekend however and therefore not diving (for a change!)

We dived Pyramid on Saturday morning and the swell was already changing to a southerly direction which makes it rather surgey and murky. I'll keep an eye on conditions for the weekend coming.

We dived Pyramid on Saturday to check out the conditions and they weren't too bad. Slight surge and about 4m viz but LOADS of sharks so it was well worth it! Unfortunately it is swelly again now but we'll keep an eye on things for the weekend.

We are not diving this weekend, both sides of False Bay and Atlantic are not looking great :( Hopefully we will get a break soon and get a chance to have some nice conditions.

20/01/2016

We were hoping to dive today but unfortunately both the False Bay and Atlantic shore sites are dirty and swelly. We are going to scout out "no matter what" on Saturday and will report back on conditions.

Here are some of the rays that we have been seeing on various shore dive sites recently.

We had a look at False Bay yesterday and this morning and its looking rather horrid - dirty water and very swelly still. So unfortunately its a dry weekend for us but we are using the opportunity to explore some hiking trails that offer spectacular views of all our oceans. I hope we get a break in the conditions soon so that we can slip in, will keep you informed!

13/01/2016

The wind is really pumping here with big swell coming through so its not looking great for diving for a while unfortunately :( I will keep you posted about conditions and we will get in as soon as there is an opportunity!

Longbeach wasn't too bad today, given the strong wind and rough surface conditions. It was a bit murky close to shore but the visibility cleaned up further out with a nice temperature of 18 deg. We were lucky enough to see a large school of game fish. You never know what you are going to see at Longbeach!

The South Easter is blowing really hard right now, making diving not the best option this weekend. However, our little gem of Longbeach has been holding its conditions with a great 19 degrees, good viz and lots of rays, just a bit of wind and surface chop but peaceful once you are underneath. We will be diving there tomorrow and will report back on conditions. This time I will remember to bring my camera battery with me!
