I AM WATER believes in Ocean Conservation through transformative human ocean experience. Those who have opened their eyes underwater, those who have seen the beauty, the majesty, the great marine creatures of the world beneath the waves will learn to love and to protect!
Their mission is to ignite a movement of blue minds across the planet, to facilitate physical and emotional connections to the aquatic environment, to build understanding of the interdependence of healthy humans and healthy oceans and to influence behaviours to protect our global seas.
I am Water is especially passionate about working with under-resourced coastal communities where, despite living walking distance to the shoreline, we often find young people who have never seen the world just beneath the waves.

RECONNECT THROUGH TRAVEL
If the last year has taught us anything it’s to live more consciously, with more awareness and respect for our environment. To value wellbeing, not only our own and that of our loved ones – but of the planet’s too.
This humbling awareness has Travel Designer ever more focussed on the things that matter. Committed to bringing people closer to nature and heeding their call to reconnect through travel.
Our collection of uniquely curated and soulful conservation-themed journeys promise an experience of a lifetime – while contributing positively to the host communities and projects you visit.

The Oranjezicht City Farm (OZCF) @ozcfarm
About nine years ago Sheryl Ozinksy @sheryloz had a dream to convert an old derelict bowling green into a community farm. It was the start of an incredible journey that involved lots of red tape and bureaucracy, yet with the support of the community and volunteers the market garden was established, becoming so much more than that along the way.
‘This is all about the food system that is broken, with most people eating unhealthy food and with fresh food really expensive. How can we repair that and make good nutritious healthy food that is grown organically available to people that live across South Africa. ‘Food is a human right, but it is the only one where there is no policy to implement this right.’
The Oranjezicht City Farm (OZCF) is a non-profit project that in turn has put back 9 million Rand in support of farmers, supplying them with vehicles, guidance and infrastructure that in turn allows their farms to be more productive, and means they can employ more people. The decision to open on Sundays and Wednesday nights too has equated to an additional 100 jobs, which is remarkable.

THE GREAT MIGRATION
One common misperception is that ‘the migration’ connotes the renowned wildebeest river crossings. This, however, is only a small part of their annual migratory cycle. There is also the birthing season, the rut, and of course their movement up the length of the Greater Serengeti Ecosystem, and back.
Their reach spans Kenya’s Masai Mara at its northernmost tip, the full stretch of the Serengeti, and all the way down to the limits of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the south. Alex Walker’s Serian camps are situated to make the most of the two main spectacles: the river crossings, and the birthing season.

The Karoo
The Karoo
I only came to know the Karoo by feeling it. A wonder of endless veld, ancient rock formations and infinite skies. KAROO RANCHING encapsulates the warm hospitality of this magnificent place, making adventure and reflection a part of everyday life.
I think back to thundering horse rides, grasses drenched with golden light, hot coffee in cold hands, roostekoek, stories around the fireside, bonds and friendships formed. This truly is the heartland and we are forever grateful to have been welcomed in.
