We were driving down Maluti Mountains, with its tips wearing snow caps when I spotted this hidden village.
I couldn't help but wonder why is that most old houses that have fallen apart are never rebuild or completely demolished.
If noticed it's the same with kraals that no longer keep livestock.
With all my questions lingering........it was seranading to watch the activities of this small village from up on a hill. Very slow and a silent village......breaking through the Winter Season.

I visit these spaces, mostly to spent my TI:ME there listening..........not taking pictures. And this is what I heard.
Through all Seasons I wake up to the sight of you.
Many of my kind have perished in these harsh lands. I stand strong and flag my hopes high.......that one day my roots drink from you.

There is a small village in the Mountain Kingdom called Semongkong. The very first time I stayed in this village was 4 years ago.....and it was a world I have never imagined.
Back then, we pitched out tents right at the river bank and nothing could have prepared me for the beautiful sounds throughout the night.
Two weeks ago we revisited this magistic village. This time around we stayed in a hut made from rock and thatch.
One early evening I sat on a hill just watching river crossings. All the horses dipped their heads and drank before the crossing.

The highest mountains in the South of Africa.......this is where you find The Kingdom In The Sky.
The shepherds spend months far away from home deep in the mountains.
The way they live is still a mystery one should document.
