Surf's up!

"Cape St Francis is home to one of the best surf breaks in South Africa and one that featured heavily in the hit cult film and surf and travel documentary ‘An Endless Summer’ in the 1960’s. The break isn’t quite what it used to be due to changing sandbanks but it is still a popular surfing location, with surfers in the water from dawn until dusk. Given its geological location, it is susceptible to swell year round from large low-pressure systems that form between Antarctica and the southern tip of Africa. When large south-west swells wrap around Seal Point and the prevailing offshore winds come up, the surfing is world class."

Top local tip: Saturday nights at the Full Stop often rock with awesome local live music.

Make sure you read the restaurant chalk board for seasonal specials, ranging from sesame seared long fin tuna to cob fillets grilled in garlicky butter.
