The 350km took us 8 hours today. It was very tough. We had dirt, mus, water and rain.We even discovered that the Pajero splash bigger than the Triton. My bladder slapped my spleen for about 273 km! I wished I brought a kidney belt. The roads north of Pemba iare really bad. Doris was vert confused and want to send us on a 3443km detour. Communication is difficult and we make sure the Sat phone is charged all the time.

West Route arrived in Arusha last night after dark. Decided to change the route slightly so that tarred roads can be used. These back roads are killing the cars and our kidneys. Anita, Roger and Jarques will be going via Kenya to Uganda. But for today - staying put in Arusha (rest day). Need to check the cars, maybe wash them and get some rest. Traffic in Arusha is worse than Johannesburg

West Route - seeing that we had no internet connection for the past three days, we thought we'll bring you up to speed with what we were up to. We spend two lovely days in Ngala, giving Roger a short break to recharge his battery after starting the journey on the 16th Jan. Jacques and myself went scouting our surroundings and discovered that Man U is very big in Malawi!
