Insurance Tips - Is Your Life Cover A Funeral Policy?

A funeral expenses policy is sometimes referred to as a final expesnses policy and a life cover is NOT a funeral policy.

Why is your life cover not good enough for funeral expenses:

1. Life cover is medically underwritten and does not pay out immediately on death
2. Life cover pay-out is not guaranteed, claim may be rejected
3. If its a term life cover which is the most common one there is a big chance that one may outlive their life cover

Insurance Tips - Why is it important to have Life Cover?

Four Main Reasons:

1. Income Replacement - if you have financial dependants you need to have a life cover period.
2. Debt Redemption - if you have debts like mortgage, car loan, personal loans you need a life cover otherwise the monies will be reovered from your estate.
3. Tax Planning - if you are serious rich you may need a life cover to pay inheritance tax so that your beneficiaries get your full etate
4. Wealth Creation - one may take a life cover, better still whole of life for wealth creation if you want your survived loves ones to have a lump sum paid to them on your death.
