A very quick story!! Nature has no chill 😂🙈🙊 Within ten minutes of my first game drive at Ruckomechi Camp, I ticked lions off my bucket list. Little did I know that the couple would be onto the next day. Thankfully our cameras were ready!!!
The king of the jungle goes for a whooping ten seconds (thereabout) and has a break of about fifteen minutes before starting all over again. This could go on twenty times in a day and for three consecutive days!!! Then hopefully another cub is on it's way but regardless, it's back to the pride and the hunting trail.

Let me take a moment to breathe maybe find the words but for now here's a few shots to immerse you in the truly magical experience at probably the most exquisite boutique hotel in the whole of Victoria Falls!!!

🌴CHUNDU ISLAND ⛵
This truly remarkable gem on the Zambezi is one of Zimbabwe's best kept secrets that combines the exotic charm of island life and the magical splendour of African safari. The hour long drive through the Zambezi National Park is often interrupted by the most beautiful traffic jams you will ever know as the majestic citizens of wild crisscross ancient pathways. At the jetty, a boat awaits to ferry you across a four hundred metres stretch of of Africa's longest river. It's almost unbelievable as you walk on the sand beaches that you still haven't left landlocked Zimbabwe. Some tropical cocktails help take it all in with delicious canapes to go with as the porters take the bags to your room.
It's without a doubt love at first site and my sneakers have long been discarded as I experience the feel of the beach in it's fullness. The sun has just set and as I chill at the bar I watch the gold and purple kaleidoscope in the distant horizon while I listen to the quiet follow of the Zambezi and the final chorus of birdsong for the day. By the time super comes, I have realize I overdid the snacks, they were that good 🤣🤣 but even if I am full there's no way I am not trying the mouthwatering oxtail right before my eyes!! Finally we retire to our suite and spend countless hours on the balcony, nearly past midnight as we hear tales of Nairobi and adventures around the continent from . The symphony of grunting hippos provide a beautiful soundtrack to the night stories.
The morning has a rather cool breeze but and I braved it out while sleeps in. The privilege of choice is what makes holidays special after all. We join two Swiss ladies who are already at the jetty and set off. The coffee offered by the captain is a godsend, in no time I feel alive and the homemade cookies were divine but I take it easy because a whole buffet awaits at breakfast. Then suddenly a grey and chilly morning turne gold and yellow, hundreds of bird species that call the Zambezi home came out to greet the new day in chorus. This felt like a lifetime and yet it was over in minutes, barely an hour. This has to be the most stunning sunrise I have ever seen!!!

I got a chance to explore with before he brought down the house with an epic performance later that night . Showed some of the wanders of our beautiful city!!! One of the exciting things we did was the croc farm tour but time didn't allow us to do crocodile cage diving.
