The Winter Classic is a Bitumen only event that was developed in 1997 in response to the popularity of the classic touring style trial events for car enthusiasts. This year’s event will be organized by the Ballarat Light Car Club; the event has grown to become a regular event on many competitors calendar. The event is set around the roads of the Central Highlands and includes some of the state's

most interesting driving roads and picturesque scenery The Winter Classic Rally format has been developed over the last 15 or so years to appeal to both regular competitors and newcomers to this style of event. This year’s event features a blended format so anyone can participate (Cams licence required)
The TRE will use guaranteed sealed roads, hence making it suitable for all vehicles. A single trophy (the sponsor Driver Trophy), will be awarded to the best driver in the Event Because the Winter Classic Rally is run by a Car Club we openly encourage other clubs to compete and experience this style of event in a friendly, club environment. To encourage clubs to try and relieve the Ballarat Light Car Club of the magnificent GOLD trophy we have included a Club Team class. A club team entry also gives entrants a discount on their entry fee.
