Summertime – the perfect time to get away to the Bunya Mountains

Sick of sweating through summer heat and humidity? It’s time to escape to the Bunya Mountains – the perfect place to cool your summer down! With temperatures 5 – 7 degrees lower than the surround lowlands, Bunya days are comfortable and pleasantly warm rather than scorchingly hot, and the nights still cool down beautifully. It’s perfect weather for a rainforest bushwalk, a swim in the ice cold Coomba Falls, a nightly stargazing session or just relaxing in the great outdoors.

To make it even better, summertime is low season from Monday to Thursday at the Bunya Mountains, meaning you can book cheaper accommodation during the week. And as most of our properties are air conditioned, you can have the temperature just how you like it.

There’s no better way to relax and escape the heat this summer than at the pristinely beautiful Bunya Mountains! It’s the perfect way to shift into a lower gear this summer – find your perfect holiday property here: https://bunyamountains.com.au/accommodation-search/

Drumroll please … we are delighted to announce the winner of last month’s Birds of the Bunya Mountains photography competition! We received some truly outstanding entries (making it almost impossible for us to choose just one!), however, we have finally selected a winner. Congratulations to Andrew Weinert for your captivating photo of a satin bowerbird at his nest. The composition, lighting and technique in your photo are all of the highest quality, and it truly captures the spirit of the Bunya Mountains. Please get in contact with us via direct message, so we can provide you with your prize.

Second place goes to Mitchell Roberts, for the most unique and creative take on the competition theme that we absolutely loved; third place to Reuben Abbott for his stunning kookaburra image; and commendable mentions to Andrew Weinert, Reuben Abbott, Julie Ramsey, and Susan Mason, who all came very close to winning with the photos shown in the comments below. Great work – we look forward to seeing more from you!

Thank you to all who entered our ninth photography competition – we were delighted to receive your entries (and keep an eye out for some of your photos which we may use in future posts, with appropriate accreditation of course). And also keep an eye out for more upcoming competitions. In case you’d like to do some planning and preparation, the next few topics for our photography competitions will be:

• The Bunya Pine/Bunya nuts

• National Park walks

Thanks again for your entries – keep them coming! We have some great prizes on offer too, so we look forward to seeing more of your creative works in the next few months.
