With the weather far from perfect it’s been impossible to head out off the coast, luckily our river charters still offer us the chance to get out on the water. Here are a few nice fish we landed last week in the inlet🎣

On Saturday Brett definitely won the day with his 90cm nannygai and then managed to out fish himself with a 116cm Spanish Mackerel. Great fishing from all guys on board. Cheers fellas 🎣

With the wind in our favour Ben and I managed to get out off the coast for a solo full day coastal charter and boy could he hook a fish! Here is a few pictures of his catches. With coral trout for dinner who could complain. Shoutout to Ben for a great day on the water🎣

Had the pleasure of taking out a few friends last Saturday. It was a slow start to the morning with only one school mackerel and dodging a few storms. The afternoon proceeded to come up with some nice fish and dad thought he had won the day with a couple of nice Spanish mackerel when mum decides to pull up the catch of a Lifetime with an awesome painted Cray.🎣

As spring approaches and water temperature rises the fishing also starts to heat up. This Giant Trevally fell to a Zman soft plastic flicked around the coastal rocks. Fantastic fun on light tackle.

With strong winds and chilly mornings the offshore fishing has been out of the question.
Fishing the coastal bays can produce some nice fish. This 1.13m Threadfin Salmon caught last week was out of season but welcome. Off course !

Coastal fishing in Cairns can be a great way to spend the day with light tackle lure or bait for sizeable fish such as Queenfish, Trevally, Mackerel, Fingermark and Javlin Fish.

As winter approaches in Cairns the coastal fishing really heats up. Spanish Mackerel, Queenfish and Longtail Tuna migrate from southern waters and take up residence around Cairns. Lure casting, trolling and bait fishing are the usual methods and make for a fantastic half or full day fishing trip.

Joined by Kirra, Lachie, Phil and Riley today. Kirra's target was Coral Trout and Trout she did, plus a nice little Red Emperor. The boys have threatened to banned her from the next fishing trip as she keeps on out fishing the lads.

Another coastal fishing trip today with less than perfect conditions but some good fishing to be had. Father / Daughter competition day with Hayley beating dad Simon with this nice gold spot Cod. A quick photo and this old girl swam away happily. Good fishing Hayley. Well done!
