Day five of our tour and as usual when you wake up rob has all the breakfast set out for you. All you have to do is eat, with a quick pack up after breakfast and walk across the suspension bridge a little bit shaky. We had a coffee with Kaycee at the Cooyar Hotel and off we went to our first stop for the day which was Linville Hotel - not before Rob stopped and gave another Caravan a hand to change a blown tyre!

What an incredible place, a beautiful old Pub. Tracy, one of the owners was so passionate about the Hotel, being a local and growing up there, she has put everything back into the hotel and with its rich history, it is amazing. Across the road from the Hotel there is free camping with showers, toilets which is beside the old railway station siding.

From here we motored on to Toogoolawah where we had lunch under the shade of some beautiful gum trees and then into our final destination of Esk. We stopped in the main street and had a walk around for a little while before checking in to the Esk Caravan Park. What a beautiful Caravan Park this is with Astroturf sites and heaps of shade. Absolutely lovely place.
We headed up to the grand Hotel for dinner where we were treated like royalty. With Country Pub Tours you really get looked after. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and then we had a visit from the owner Joe who sat down with us for a good half an hour and told us about the history of the Esk Grand Hotel. Everything about this place is lovely People management and the food was incredible. What a night

Today started with our usual hot cold breakfast. We packed up and went and had a stroll up the street in Goomeri with a lovely coffee from the bakery.
We then set sale on our journey for the day ,first stop Wondai
The Timber Museum is incredible, the people there so knowledgeable and friendly
Next stop was Wooroolin, with lunch in the park and a tour of the Grand Hotel ,where Robyn told us of the history not only of the Grand Hotel but also of the little town, incredible Pub and also incredible people so welcoming.
We then made our way to Cooyar with a bit of sightseeing along the way ,Setup camp for the night and got ready for dinner at the Cooyar Hotel .
This pub would be the best we have been to on our tour. The others were lovely as well but this one stands out. The owners Casey and Andy are very proud of what they have. They opened the Pub up for us to look through as well as the kitchen, as they don’t normally serve meals on Mondays , you do get special treatment with Country Pub Tours, it’s not what you know ,it’s who Rob knows, the meals and everything about this Hotel incredible, bring on tomorrow

Well, another day, another Pub, first up a lovely breakfast ,once again a quick pack up and off we go
One of the many great things about these tours with Country Pub Tours is that the only thing you have to pack up is your chairs. You don’t have to get anything out. Everything supplied
Our first stop today the Commercial Hotel at Biggenden
With new owners taken over a couple of months ago the place looks great, the food incredible ,we had a bit of a wait as there was a large influx of people turned up as we did ,but the food made the wait worthwhile
With a beautiful drive-through the Country after a lovely lunch, we made our way to Goomeri where we set up camp for the night, Rob cooked us lovely barbecue for dinner whilst we chatted amongst ourselves
Another great day had

Well today started with hot and cold breakfast prepared by Rob , bacon eggs cereal toast tea coffee .
A quick pack up and it is quick because you don’t need to have anything out as Rob does everything and has everything . A lovely walk around Blackbutt looking at shops and of course grabbing a pie from the famous bakery.Next stop ,Yarraman where we caught up with Michael the owner of the Yarraman Hotel. Michael told us a few stories about the pub and town but one in particular stands out.
The Pub itself was actually spun around , as the council moved the main road from the front of the pub to the back, so what do you do? You spend the Pub around? They did this by lifting it up putting logs underneath it and using winches and Bullock teams they turned the Pub around where it sits to face the main street again. A cold drink a bit of a chat with everyone and we went to a next stop to say a lovely couple of collectors of all sorts of things Kerry and Trish. What an absolute surprise this place was , a must see for anyone, the history that this couple have gathered over the years is incredible. A must see.
A short drive through to Nanango , where Rob prepared our lunch for us ,cold meat and salad wraps and sandwiches with ice cold drinks . Our nextstop Goomeri at Joe‘s hotel ,where Jess the bar manager filled us in on a little bit of history , beautiful Pub and amazing history to go with it
Our next stop was our final destination for the day Kilkiven, where we set up camp straight across the road from Hotel and chill out until dinner time

Big drive today down to Blackbutt to meet up with everyone and setup camp. Had a quiet drink at the Show Grounds and then off to the Radnor hotel for dinner. Meet and greet with the owner Brett who took over the Pub when Covid first crippled Queensland
The pub was built in 1913 between Blackbutt and a little township about 5 km away. There were 11 pubs in the day, the Radnor was the only surviving one.
When Brett came over to our dinner table he didn’t come empty-handed - in one hand he had a tray with shot glasses and in the other bottle of tequila. Shots for everyone he says - okay if we must! He then proceeded to tell us a few stories and history about the grand old Radnor and with a full guided tour. It’s an absolutely beautiful old Pub and Brett has done so much work to it to make it to what it is today.
Dinner, what can I say? Amazing! Empty plates everywhere, an awesome night bring on day two.
