Have you thought about what is involved when it comes to maintaining your favourite sporting facilities? Regular maintenance can help extend the life cycle of your facilities especially in the areas with the highest levels of use.

Our Polytan Service Manager Janine Kilmartin takes us to Lakeside Stadium in Melbourne, home to a Rekortan M99 track system, to run us through some key things to look out for when it comes to maintaining athletics tracks.

Polytan recently completed a new hockey for hockey pitch for the Forestville Hockey Club at Unley High School.

Opting for H2Oz in green, an excellent sand-dressed system which is ideal for facilities that don't have suitable irrigation. It also has a International Hockey Federation (FIH) Gen 2 Multi-Sport Classification, meeting requirements for sports such as netball and tennis.

Within this full-size hockey pitch there are line markings for 3 netball courts, a great use of space for a shared facility!

Big first day at ! We have loved connecting with many familiar faces and meeting some new ones to discuss all things sport surfaces. Last year we introduced our Paris GT turf to the NSC community, and now it’s almost showtime for our Olympic hockey teams to compete on the surface! We are also excited to be showcasing more of our Sport Group product brands on the stand as manufactured by our sister company . Looking forward to the second and final day tomorrow!

A huge congratulations to all the 2023 finalists for the Polytan Peter Norman Inclusion Award at the . This award recognises those who have made a significant and impactful contribution, in promoting safe, fair and inclusive sport.

Vicsport plays such an important role in encouraging more Victorians to get involved in sport and be as active as possible. Polytan are particularly proud to support an award celebrating inclusivity in sport across difference communities.

The winner will be announced on June 12th at Marvel Stadium, we hope to see you there!

We are now down to double digits! At 99 days to go, the preparations are well underway. Aligning with Paris 2024’s commitment to sustainability, hockey at the Olympic Games will focus on minimizing environmental impact. Initiatives include the use of Poligras Paris GT zero turf, a carbon zero hockey turf made from 80% bio-based materials. In addition, hockey looks to recycled materials for equipment and uniforms, and implementing strategies to reduce the carbon footprint associated with the games.

Hockey tickets are some of the hottest in town. Whether it is the pool stages, or the finals, each match up is star studded.

We have heard sporting stars credit training in high attitude to give them the edge for high performance. But have you ever wondered what that looks like?

Located in the Lintao County, Gansu, China, is the Lintao Training Centre. Originally built to serve as an alternative sub plateau training base for the Chinese Athletics Team. With about three months to go until the Olympic Games, sports teams around the world are entering into full time programs and respective camps for final preparations. Our Australian hockey teams, the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos are no different. What does the training look like? What are the goals and expectations this year?

On your marks!

The Casey Fields Regional Athletics Track is complete! After serving the community for close to 13 years, it was time for a resurface.

Our Polytan team battled the usual elements in Victoria, from wind, heavy rain to extreme heat. But after a few months, the once red track is now a vibrant blue Rekortan M track (with charcoal for non competition areas!).

We are looking forward to the sprints, jumps and PBs on this new track!

Now that the Hockey schedule is out for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the stage is set!

A historic venue, Yves du Manoir Stadium will serve as the centre stage for hockey, it comes 100 years after it hosted the 1924 Paris Olympic Games. Whether you attend in person or watch closely on TV screens, our Poligras Paris GT Zero will be bright and blue, also making history as the world's first carbon zero turf.

The opening clash will be men's match up played on the 27th July, 10am local time between Team GB and Spain. There will certainly be endless additions to the highlights reel when the very best of men's and women's hockey take to the pitch!

What a great weekend at the re-opening of Waverley Hockey Club. At the end of 2023, the main pitch at the club was out of action for a short time. After countless battles on the field with the club hosting Juniors, Seniors and Masters, for girls, boys, men and women, it was time for an upgrade.

Polytan replaced the existing surface and infill with new the Poligras H2OZ GT surface. This is a great sand dressed system that doesn't require irrigation.

Various officials, including representatives from local, state and federal governments were in attendance. After the formalities, it was all fun and games with the inaugural “Panther Cup” featuring a dress up and 5 a side fun. A great social way to kick off the season before the hockey season begins!

We look forward to many fierce battles on the hockey pitch!

Wishing the CommBank Matildas the best of luck against Uzbekistan in tonight's first of the two Paris 2024 Asian Qualifier matches. The Asian Football Confederation is assigned only two spots in the Olympic Games.

The Matildas will play away at the Milliy Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan with kick off at 8pm AEDT, before heading home for the second match up on the 28th of February to play at Marvel Stadium.

On a beautiful Melbourne night, the Maurie Plant Meet took place last night at Lakeside Stadium, run on our Rekortan track.

The Maurie Plant Meet is a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold event, where we see the best in our region compete.

Congratulations to all the athletes who competed, we saw plenty of PB's on the night. Some highlights include Aussie Rohan Browning who once again cemented himself as a sprint star, running season bests by taking home the 200m race (and completing the sprint double at the earlier Melbourne Invitational 100 event). In the John Landy Mile, Stewart McSweyn returned from a string of injuries to cross the finish line first, claiming victory from 2022 1500m world champ Jake Wightman from Team GB.

In a stacked 800m women's field, Australian teen phenomenon Claudia Hollingsworth brought home a surprise victory, running a personal best and cracking under 2 minutes for the first time. Claudia beat out Birmingham Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Abbey Caldwell who ran second, and national record-holder Catriona Bisset third.

As we draw closer to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, it looks like the spots on the Australian team will be hotly contested!

What a weekend it was for at Adelaide Invitational, held at the SA Athletics Stadium, run our Rekortan G13 gel track.

With the event being World Athletics Continental Bronze event, it brought out the very best across our region.

A huge congratulations to all the athletes who competed! Notable standouts include Aussie teenager Cameron Myers who smashed a longstanding record in the Men's 1500m event, up against a stacked field featuring Tokyo 2020 Olympian Jye Edwards and reigning national champion Callum Davies. At just 17 years old, Cameron Myers continues his rise to stardom and is looking ahead to the Maurie Plant event on Thursday.

In the women's field, another Australian teen sensation, Torrie Lewis who recently became the Australia's fastest woman, took home in 200m event amongst a strong field. 19-year-old Torrie will also compete in Thursday's Maurie Plant event at Lakeside Stadium (also run on Rekortan!) in a bid to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which requires the magic number of 11:07.

The SA Athletics will be home to all the track and field action again in April, when the National Athletics Champions take place.

Congratulations to the Netherlands Men's team on their triumphant victory in the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Hockey 5 World Cup!

The event concluded with a nail-biting finish, and the team proudly raised the trophy, mirroring the success of their women counterparts. A sensational double win played out on the iconic Poligras Paris GT, which is also the official surface for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The inaugural World Cup in Oman is currently well underway. The Women's competition has now completed the pool stage and move into the finals. The Men's pool stage will begin on the 28th of January, with Australia playing both Trinidad & Tobago and New Zealand on Day 1.

Tomorrow marks the official commencement of the 2024 Australian Deaf Games and we extend our best wishes to all the participating athletes!

The first Australian Deaf Games were held in 1964 in Sydney and since has been a pinnacle multi-sport event for all deaf people involving up to 20 sports and attracting more than 1000 competitors from all over the country and other pacific regions. The Australian Deaf Games 2024 will be centered around the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area and the athletics competition at the Hunter Sports Centre, run on our Rekortan Track.
We take immense pride in being a part of this elite-level tournament and look forward to witnessing outstanding performances from all the dedicated athletes.
