S21, also known as Tuol Sleng, was a notorious security prison where thousands of Cambodians were detained, tortured, and executed under the leadership of Pol Pot. Some survivors managed to escape or were released when the regime fell in 1979. These survivors often faced physical and psychological trauma, but their testimonies have been crucial in documenting the horrors of the Khmer Rouge era and seeking justice for its victims.

Chum Mey - One of the 7 survivors from the S21 Prison after the Khmer Rouge! Being a mechanic saved him! He sits on the Prison premises every day to share his story!

Our local guide Mr Buntha was only 7 years old where he was brainwashed and was forced to join the Khmer Rouge! He carried around a (5kg) AK47 and had to kill his own people at only 7 years old!

Now he is tour guiding to share his story and what he had to go through during the Khmer Rouge! He worked at the S21 Prison and at the Killing Fields which we went on and visited.

I recommed to watch “They Killed my Father First” and “The Killing Fields” to get an insight into the heartbreaking chpater of history 🥲

Bun cha: iconic Vietnamese dish featuring grilled pork served with rice noodles, herbs, and dipping sauce; popular street food delight. Has a Sweet BBQy Flavour

Bun tom: A rice vermicelli noodles, grilled shrimp cake, herbs, and dipping sauce; a beloved seafood delicacy. Still had the shell and tail on it but was actually delicious 😬

Bun nem: with rice vermicelli, crispy spring rolls, herbs, and fish sauce; a flavorful and satisfying street food choice.

Ha Noi “The Capital City of Vietnam” 🇻🇳
Started off with a pretty decent breakfast at the hotel, the omelette was a hit! We then headed out in search of a local coffee shop. After we got our Kicks we went on a mission around the city. Later this evening we then joined a street food tour for dinner.
The weather may have been overcast with a little bit of showers but it was still amazing! Soo many food, cafes, souvenir and clothing shops everywhere! The amount of walking done on the First day, my feet are now fat!

Next stop Ho Chi Minh City 🇻🇳🥵☀️

Day 2: Singapore to Bangkok Arrived in Bangkok during peak hours, faced chaos at the airport as the scooties lost a bag. Smooth train ride downtown, negotiated with a taxi driver, endured rush hour traffic, then hurriedly took a Grab for a Street Food Tour in Chinatown. Explored local delicacies via Tuk Tuk hopping savouring egg noodles with fish balls, then fried bread with some green coconut sauce (nan might like that one), crispy pork belly soup and ended with Fried rice with crab meat pieces and a cold Singha and Chang Beer. Visted some temples and then got dropped off after a long travel day. #GnTAbroad #holidays #adventures #Bangkok
