AIRCRAFT ANNOUNCEMENT - HAWKER SEA FURY

Be at the Nhill Airshow April 13 to witness one of Australia's newest warbirds in action - the Hawker Sea Fury! In one of its first Australian appearances since landing on our shores in February, pilot Paul Bennet will put the iconic and powerful machine through its paces for the Nhill crowds.

Formerly a Reno Air Race competitor known as 'Sawbones', this 2480hp 18-cylinder Sea Fury is the first of its kind to call Australia home in almost a decade.

With a maximum speed of 740km/h, the Sea Fury is some 30km/h faster than the Mustang and 100km/h faster than the Kittyhawk! Don't miss this!

|| NHILL CANEBALL COURT COMPLETE ||

Contractors have completed installation of the artificial surface for the new Caneball Court at the Nhill Lawn Tennis Club and the posts and net installed in readiness for local players to enjoy their very own Caneball Court in Nhill. The new court is believed to be the first dedicated Caneball Court constructed in Western Victoria.

Caneball, also known as Chinlone or Sepak Takraw is a game native to Myanmar and popular across Asia. Caneball is played with a small Rattan ball on a court similar in size to that used in Volleyball. The ball is passed across a net between opposing teams using only their feet.
Handover of the court to the local Karen community will occur in the coming weeks, with an official opening event currently being planned.

This project has been made possible with funding from the Federal Government’s Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Program and Hindmarsh Shire Council.
