After 12.5 years in business we are excited to announce that 'Simply Soakwells' has evolved into 'Hooked Up Drainage'.

Morne is moving onto a new era of business with his new drainage business working for Perth builders, and won't be offering private soakwell services going forward.

We would like to thank all of our valued clients over the last 12.5 years for supporting our family business. Simply Soakwells has been a huge part of our life and has supported our dreams and aspirations as a family and as business owners. We will be forever grateful.

We will be closing down Simply Soakwells at the EOFY and operating as Hooked Up Drainage going forward.

Easter is a bit different at Ningaloo -
the Easter bunny knows that the temperature often reaches 40C at this time of year and that we are living off solar power with limited fridge space for chocolate, and that leaving foil wrapped Easter eggs around for the wildlife to eat is not a good idea.

This year we are having a chocolate free Easter (well almost) and we could not be happier. The Easter bunny left our kids lots of craft activities and gifts instead, and we are too busy to eat chocolate anyway. I think we could learn a lot from life in the bush.

Concrete Soakwells; 1200 x 900mm 716kg, 1017L capacity

Concrete Soakwells maybe strong and durable, but they are heavy and drain very slowly do to the limited drainage area at the base. These 1200 x 900mm soakwells weigh 716kg but only have a 1017L capacity, which means they can service up to a 80m2 roof area. You can imagine the size of soakwell required for a whole house! The mistake many people make is installing multiple small concrete soakwells as the large ones are too heavy and awkward to install. Unfortunately, these soakwells fill up like a bucket during heavy downpours, and overflow causing soil erosion and water damage. If you want to install concrete soakwells, make sure the capacity is sufficient (go big!!) and make sure there is sufficient access for large plant machinery, such as 5T excavator, to do this. In other words, don't wait till your house is built. Install these soakwells while there is plenty of access and limited risk to your property.
