Itā€™s been a little while since we have been adventuring, time is limited once school returns. But, we just spent a few nights at Sandstone Point Big 4, will share when we return home but all I can say is WOW! The most family friendly resort Iā€™ve spent time at in ages! Whoā€™s been here before?

Buderim Village Park

This new park only recently opened up in the heart of Buderim so we just had to check it out šŸ˜‚

10 mins from the plaza, up the beautiful Buderim mountain this park didnā€™t disappoint! It felt so spacious with a huge layout consisting of a big oval grassed areas, toilet block, heaps of seating, and lots to explore. Various swings for the sensory kids (including a mum and bub seesaw one) hammocks, tunnel slide, spinner. We spent white a while here because it had such a beautiful vibe! Heaps of nice shops up that way to check out too if the kids allow it. It was a massive bonus to have a fair bit of shade for the kids too!

Little Monkeys Playcentre & Cafe

This cool little place is easily spotted on the way into Maryborough by the giant Ned Kelly Statue! I didnā€™t realise initially this was a Playcentre at first, as I always thought it was a servo, but it is both. This indoor play centre has a great climbing fort with padding and is cater for kids up to 11yrs. It has a baby area, a jumping castle and some epic awesome slides. My kids absolutely love coming here to play and always seem to make some friends.

The cafe is my other fav part about this place. Plenty of tables for parents to sit (or they are welcome to accompany on the equipment with socks on). The coffee is large, cheap and tastes amazing. Thatā€™s a huge win for me! they also do great chips and and have a cool assortment of lollies! Entry is $6.50 for under 4yrs and $8.50 for over 4yrs. Thatā€™s not too bad for a few hours of fun. Itā€™s fully air conditioned so perfect for a hot day or a rainy one.

Make sure you bring socks (or they do sell them) and definitely stop in next time.

Maryborough Aquatic Centre

We visited the aquatic centre on our visit because we love a good cool down and proper swim. We also love the kids play areas we find for a relatively cheap cost. Maryborough Aquatic Centre had a great kids play area. It was like Little Rock pools for the kids to play in. One had a fountain, another was like a beach entry. There was a spray tunnel and a tipping water bucket. Beside the water play was also a small playground. This play area was great as it was all shallow and had heaps of play area. This area was also shaded which was a complete bonus.

The smaller outdoor pool was heated and also great for kids. I loved that the deep end was 1.2m meaning that it was deep enough for the kids to play but I could still reach while I played with them. They also had pool noodles to play with and a few other float devices. the kids loved it here!

Splashside - Maryborough

Last week we visited Maryborough with some family. There are some pretty cool places here we want to share if you ever travel up that way, itā€™s worth stopping in.

Splashside is one of our favourite places for a few reasons. Firstly, itā€™s completely free!!!! Secondly, it has water play. From a flowing bucket/drum, to sprinklers, an in ground trampoline and a water slide! It is a large area spread out allowing more room for lots of people to play, has lots to do and is interactive.

The other reason this space is so great is that water play aside, Anzac Park includes at least 4 other playground areas to play. They have a large flying fox, a ninja course for older kids, a cubby play house with mum and bub swing, a natural timber inspired obstacle course and a play fort with slides. Already amongst all these are seats everywhere, BBQs, toilets and heaps of shade from massive trees and shade sails. If you are into riding, walking ir a scoot, you can also take the large pathed track around the river. The area is well maintained and every time we have been, an ice cream truck has visited the car park making no need to ever leave!

This place is seriously well thought out for families and friends and well equipped with something for all ages! We love coming here!

Basin Park - Pelican Waters

Based in the Marina at Pelican Waters, we found this little beauty right on the water edge. This park was constructed with the remains of the SS Mr Perceval boat that washed ashore in a cycle and beached at Pelican Waters. Overseen by relaxing bar style tables this park is everything the the imagination desires and keeps a nice piece of history on the coast. You can go ā€™below deckā€™ via a little ladder and steer the ship from the captains deck. The ship is surrounded by hungry crocodile infested waters and is beautifully positioned by the water. Its only a short walk to the other side with toilets and more swings and attracted the most beautiful sea breeze on a hot day. It was shaded and clean, our kids loved hearing of the story of the boat and I think any little explorer would love playing here!

Scribbly Gum Park - Pelican Waters

Another cool park in Pelican Waters. This one has a very large space and has tried to cater for everyone. It has a range of activities for all kids to enjoy from climbing, slides and play equipment, to sand play, handball courts hopscotch and even riding paths. My favourite was the setup for the swings. I loved the round setup and cruisy feel. Although it has more shade than the other we visited, it was still quite warm in the dead centre of the day. I imagine the mornjng and afternoons would be quite enjoyable as the trees around would provide more shade at a later or earlier time. I didnā€™t see toilets in this facility though but there was plenty of seating and BBQs to use too.

The other thing that was good was this park included a large open area that would be great for an afternoon game of cricket or ball with the family.

Jensen Park - Pelican Waters - Bells Esplanade

This is a brand new park just gone in we thought we would check out after our morning swim. We arrived at this park around lunch time and it was scorching hot. The park itself was really cool and we absolutely loved the ladybug shade sail over the swings. The ninja course was cool and it had tunnels and slides. Our kids loved the look of it but it did get hot very quickly. With this being said, one of the slides was closed off with a sign saying that it was too hot to use the metal slide and more shade was on the way! So Iā€™m pleased to see that and look forward to going back.

The other cool thing about this park is that it had a cool bike/scooter track that looked so fun with twists, bends and bumps. It was a bit too hot for us to try this time of the day, but in the afternoon it would have been great for the kids to enjoy. Especially since the overlooking area for parents has a bar type feel.

This facility had brand new bbqs, tables and toilets. I look foward to going back here again soon!

JR Ford Park!

What a great, free, swim location. Amazing for younger kids, this little artificial river and swimming hole is about shin deep and big enough to chill on a hot day! It is free, itā€™s clean and itā€™s a ball of fun! I stumbled across this by accident while looking for somewhere else and Iā€™m so glad we did. We visited with some friends today and all day the kids were asking to go back (we did spend nearly 2 hrs here to begin with). A great place to take a toy boat and splash, or some water toys. Very shallow but not restricted to young kids. From the large swimming area, it follows the park around in a river like or stream replica which includes stepping stones and bridges. The park itself also hosts a half basketball court and a small playground.

The one negative was that it didnā€™t appear to have toilet facilities. We will be back to this one in the very near future, with a picnic lunch šŸ˜

Cooroyā€¦ again!

Shortly after decided we were ready to leave, we looked over the road to discover Cooroy had another playground. Much smaller and a lot less fancy, but none this less a stack to do. When we got out to play, we discovered that it was right next to BMX Dirt Park, and a decent one at that! Cooroy was always the town I drove through to get to Noosa, I didnā€™t even realize it had all this here! Iā€™m addition, a skate park was also in there same space. So itā€™s literally the perfect place to pack up to spend the day and not have to leave at all! When lunch comes, Cooroy Main Street host lots of gorgeous and quirky little cafes I am dying to visit! For a quiet little town, itā€™s definitely a cool place to take the kids for a zero cost adventure (unless of course you check out the cafes).

This park is pretty incredible. Located in Cooroy, itā€™s literally a day out on its own. Itā€™s so spacious, but it definitely packs out on a nice day. We visited today, a Monday, and it was very quiet with only about 5 other families.

One of my favourite features of this park is the artificial river, perfect for a swim and itā€™s clean. Itā€™s shallow for younger kids and had plenty of space.

For the older kids, it has great climbing nets, bridges and an awesome tower to climb to the tall tunnel slide. It also has a large flying fox with a seat, great for younger riders and a smaller rocket tower and slide as well. It caters for every level!

Today we were spoilt for choice of seating all around the park but on busier days it can become an issue. However it had heaps of space for a picnic rug to claim your spot.

Shade is the other issue. We just wore our hats and sunscreen, but I do think in time, as the trees grow, this issue will become less. The have planned the vegetation to grow to provide future shade and it is a wealth of green.

If you are bringing younger kids, while it is busy, I would definitely recommend bringing a suitable ratio you feel comfortable with. šŸ™‚

We went to check out a free magic show at Tewantin Noosa RSL. Before we left we decided to grab some lunch and the kids discovered the coolest play room whilst they waited for their food. It was enclosed, included a full engaging room with soft climbing, tunnels and a slide. The best and most engaging by far though was the interactive floor mat. It was a projection that appeared to be shadow sensitive. It changed through a range of games including air hockey. It was so cool. This was a gem for parents wanting to eat out with young kids. What a cool venue!

Burnet Park - Baringa

I know right, another one! These incredible parks are literally minutes away from each other. Thatā€™s the beauty of the parks in the Aura estates. We are only ever 2 or 3 mins from the next incredible one, and Iā€™m not exaggerating!

This park was like a GIANT obstacle course. But it was in the most gorgeous natural surroundings. It was hard to imagine it was amongst all the small apartments. We are our picnic lunch here because we loved the environment. Although it was obstacle course inspired, it did also have some pretty tricky challenges to being out those skills and play. From wobbly swinging bridges, to stepping stones, to wall climbing, a slide, sand play and much more. It was one we did many laps of laughing along the way.

No toilets at this one though and no bbqs. They did have a couple of undercover tables and some chairs throughout though. But who doesnā€™t want to join in?

Island Park - Nirimba

We have been here a few times but went back yesterday as the kids requested it. They love this park because itā€™s GREAT for hide and seek, it has two large island sections, joined by a rope bridge. They have multiple access points to the island including rock climbing, rope ladders, and easier stepping stones via the back. The islands can also communicate through a megaphone set which mg kids find hilarious and a lot of fun. This park has so many fun challenges making it suitable for older kids as well. A metal tunnel slide and a big wide slide make the tick of approval. For older kids and families, it is also fullly set up with a beach vollyball net and scoring cards. Itā€™s well maintained and has seating. I enjoyed the hammock to relax in while they played šŸ˜‚

The design and engagement of this park is very cool. Lots of imaginative play happens here!

Just beware, no toilets or bbqs at this one.

Baringa Pedal Park - Steiner Crescent

Lately we chuck swimmers in the boot, change of clothes and scooters in because you never know where you end up, right?

This Pedal Park we stumbled across last year and itā€™s a beauty. The bike path has everything a rider could want and we always see a mix of wheels when we are there. Some use bikes, some on skates, scooters, boards, whatever your choice is, the path is perfect. It has bumps, bridges, turns, working traffic lights, round about, double lanes, speed jumps and hills. I mean what else could you want? Itā€™s one I have to crap the kids away from.

The playground looks amazing too, but Iā€™m not a massive fan of the climbing frame. I find that I always have to get in and give a boost to my youngest, however, I have seen smaller kids manouver themselves better than mine can. It does host a pretty impressive tunnel slide at the top which is worth the climb.

The park also has clean bbqs, heaps of seating, toilets and water bottle refill facilities which are a major asset. the whole other end of the park offers massive basketball courts as well so if you had more people this would be fun also!

Totally worth the visit. MY kids are already asking to go back.

Today we checked out the Caloundra Aquatic Centre! It was fantastic!

We love a good pool play. This place did not disappoint. Over the holidays, they put up an inflatable on Mon, Wednesdays and Fridays between 11am-2pm. To hop on, children had to be 6 and comfortable in water. The kids spent a good few hours on this and loved every minute. It was a good size for kids and a simple design. My kids arenā€™t strong swimmers but they did just fine maneuvering back the the edge when needed. I also want to credit the staff. They were so kind and helpful. They were also so friendly and encouraging to the children.

The children pools were my other favourite park of this venue. The fully enclosed kids area was fantastic. It had a cool slide and under the rocks was a cool cave area. We enjoyed playing in this area before moving to the other kids pool. This one was a depth of 0.9m making it great for older kids who needed confidence of reaching and was filled with kids happily playing Marco Polo. So much fun. So lucky to have so many cool swim spaces to explore on the sunny coast!

Nambour Aquatic Centre

This place was amazing! They have a big outdoor lap pool, a heated indoor pool (good depth for kids), a water playground and two big tunnel slides.

The kids play area was awesome. It is fenced along the side that adjoins the lap pool with a gate for parents which I love, has a small tunnel slide and an open slide coming off the fort. In the surrounds it also has lots of sprays and water splashing, not to mention a bucket which fills then dumps water over the play area. So much fun! This is also the area where the large tunnel slides came out. I loved this as it was fenced and if I was going down after the kids I knew they were safe.

The big slides were awesome! You travel down solo, one is open, one is closed. Lots of curves, bends and speed to whoosh down and land in a splash of water in the kids play area. The enclosed tunnel had more speed than the open one but both were super fun. From what I saw, kids of all sizes were using them and no one measured my children on the way in like they done at other places so I assume ther wasnā€™t a height restriction. I loved this about them. My daredevil children rode these for hours straight and I went alongside. The wait times for slides were no more than 5 mins in busier moments and all staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

It was a win for us and my little one asked to go back the very next day so I think that says it all! Entry was reasonable and the slide pass was an additional $6 per person but you can ride them as many times as you please. There is not restriction like in Hervey bay for how many times you can go down. With children thatā€™s always a very big win and we got some serious value for our dollar!

We didnā€™t even get pics of our trip which is rare for us! Too much fun to be had! šŸ˜‚

The Nambour Aquatic Centre is open seven days a week and its pools are heated year-round

Today is a ā€˜homeā€™ day for us. We had a park play early with some friends but the heat and storm threats gave us good reason to chill. I thought I would share another adventure we did last week.

Last Friday we went to Kawana to go jumping at The Big Boing Indoor Trampoline Park! If you havenā€™t been here, you need to check it out! This place has timed entry and you have 1hr from your start time. Trust me, this is probably all you need. They have a great little cafe, slushees, chips, ect. They have a very cool little playground with ball pit, triple slide and a climbing rope tunnel. Lots of fun. They also have a few sections in the jumping area. A younger section for under 5s is great some awesome jumps into foam blocks. In the main are, there are 3 trick mats where you can launch into a big airbag (my daughters fav). They also have a huge area to jump all around freely. Around the corner they have a continuous game of dodgeball and basketball hoops too where you can launch up of the tramps. So much fun. If you have more skills than me, they also have a very challenging ninja course. You do need shoes for this. If you are not sweating after an hours your arenā€™t playing hard enough šŸ˜‚ I was always a bit worried about a place like this with kids but itā€™s truely a lot of fun!

After the big boing, we checked out the Kawana Aquatic Centre. This place was great. The kids section was fully fenced, it was a good depth for play, had fountains, and a boat which was great. It was perfect for the kids to play safely. The bigger pool was great as it was designed for diving training. It had shallow but then had a super deep section which my kids loved.

The last place we went was the playground in Bokarina. This playground is well planned and great fun. It is super spacious, has bbqs, toilets, scooter and bike paths, climbing, big slides, rock climbing walls, seesaws, sand digger, swingsā€¦ it was awesome. We spent ages here because there was just so much to do. I will post the link below in comments but this is a cool one to visit if you in this area. Big kids and little kids approved šŸ˜

Dinosaur Park

Based in Nirimba and not long built, this park is seriously cool to check out! My kids literally dropped their jaws when we pulled up here and I think I did too! This park allows children to enter through the Dinoā€™s mouth, and climb up and over the back, exiting via its tail (a large tunnel slide). It could not be cooler. It also had bbq facilities, undercover tables and eating areas, toilets and a lounge area with funky relaxing chairs and hammock style swings for parents to chill while the kids play. It also has cool Dino features like a digging pit where kids can dig in the sand to discover bones of dinosaurs. It is seriously well thought out. Climbing the body is suitable for younger kids as it has mats along the spine to keep them from falling, but also caters to older kids who like to climb featuring his Dino body as a massive climbing frame. It really is one to visit and stay for a while. You wonā€™t regret it!

Bells Reach Playground

This one is a score for parents. A beautiful cafe, Izba Espresso, overlooks the playground which has so much for kids to explore. The cafe offers a range of meals, caffeine and drinks to enjoy whilst the kids get to play, climb, slide and enjoy. It also offers spacious BBQ areas which a clean and comfortable, and a toilet facilty too. A little walk around the spacious grounds and we also found a set of goal posts for a soccer game and also the paths had games such as hopscotch to play as well. The are has footpaths all around too and is relatively flat. A great place to ride, scooter or enjoy a ball game with family and friends. Such a hidden gem! A must go to for any parent!

Bells Reach Playground is an impressive Sunshine Coast Playground with ample space to play and great facilities.
