A display of collaborative achievement in architecture, media, engineering and technology This interactive freeform is made up of digital building blocks designed and based on the Mobius geometry. The composition and articulation of the Mobius blocks are synonymous with euphony exemplifying Euphonious Mobius as an expressive piece of architecture. Representing a hybrid of architectural elements wh
ere the wall morphs into a floor, this freeform simulates a segment of the Mobius twist. Through the use of algorithms that create the fluid irregularities each Mobius block is unique in shape and size and functions as a pixel housing LED lights. Adopting the Mobius geometry which results in significant compression benefits, and using computational techniques enable the creation of a self-supporting complex structure that uses minimal materials. This architectural style merged with responsive, interactive devices and sustainable LED technologies creates an innovation and a pioneering idea in media facades and media architecture. As a spatial intervention, its interactivity and dynamic form produce a multitude of interface experiences and facilitate dialogue in the form of contemporary media. Euphonious Mobius displays a collaborative achievement bringing together architectural design, media, engineering, emergent technologies, acoustics and visual arts. Team for Vivid Sydney 2013:
