: Cristina trained as an actor in the early 80’s at The Ensemble Studios, Sydney, tutored by Hayes Gordon. In her second year she directed her contemporaries in an all woman play “The Cagebirds”. Cristina’s early success with the play leads her to London where she falls into casting after meeting an established casting director and offering her services for free (only initially). “Actors need to h
ave a couple of feathers in their cap”. The next 10 yrs proved to be busy casting, TVC’s, MV’s and Indie Films for UK and Europe. Cristina returned to Sydney at the end of 1995 and opened the doors to Cristina Harris Casting Feb 1996. Cristina gathered directors almost immediately after casting a coke commercial, in her first week back, with new and original talent. Several years later Cristina was head hunted for In House Casting Director for George Patterson Partners (largest Ad Agency in Aust 2002) where she was responsible for casting 100’s of TVC’s with some awarding winning directors and actors for TV & Cinema nationally and internationally. Cristina gained valuable expertise with talent contracts, fee negotiations and the occasional Hollywood agent like J Lo’s for example! In recent years, Cristina has been casting short films. Cristina operates her consultancy from the eastern subs of Sydney but is available to travel anywhere in the world for the right project! Cristina balances her professional life with Fine Art and practices Painting & Yoga and lives by the beach in Sydney.
