Take a stroll with me along the coast of the Caspian Sea. We'll be walking along the yacht club, see the flag square and Mini Venice, you'll be able to take a gondola ride.
Then we'll be observing the unique Carpet Museum, the Deniz Mall shopping center and the huge Ferris wheel. We will take the funicular (cable car) up to Highland Park. There are three famous Flame Towers on top of the hill, that have become the modern symbol of the city.
There we'll be walking along the alley of honor up to the Eternal Fire memorial. We will be near the observation area overlooking the entire Baku Bay. You will see some ancient and new monuments as we go on, and I will tell you about their history.

Вторая часть истории про съемки фильма Человек-Амфибия в 1960 г. в городе Баку.
Первую часть вы можете найти ниже в ленте.

👉🏼Больше всего эпизодов снято в Ичери-Шехер. Какие-то улочки были, украшены вывесками и плакатами, некоторые из них можно заметить в разных сценах, в каких-то местах Ичери-Шехер вообще узнать трудно. Например, в том эпизоде, где Ихтиандр купается в фонтане. Этот фонтан - декорация чистой воды, причем с первого раза его построить не получилось - фонтан развалился. И вокруг него, как водится, возникали новые бакинские легенды. кстати, фонтан настолько вписался в антураж что долго потом еще радовал местных детей.

👉🏼Ещё одно популярное место съемок - кафе "Наргиз" на площади Фонтанов со своей необычной архитектурой и без переделки выглядело более чем по-западному. Помните знойную брюнетку, поющую "Эй, моряк!"? Именно эта песня, ставшая позже всесоюзным шлягером, снималась в этом кафе.

👉🏼"Сегодня не каждый помнит, что это кафе назвали в честь обворожительной и загадочной бакинской красавицы, которую сопровождали толпы восторженных поклонников, - вспоминал позже Владимир Коренев, сыгравший Ихтиандра.
Не удивительно что находясь в таком красивом городе, как Баку, актеры находили время, чтобы просто погулять.

☝🏼И самый удивительный факт, что сам Уолт Дисней (!) отказался от экранизации книги "Человек-амфибия" из-за невозможности подводных съемок. американцы "замахивались" на роман еще в 1940-х годах, но сняли его именно у нас в начале 60-х

What do you know about Zoroastrianism? an ancient Fire Temple Ateshgah, which draws its history back to the 1st century as a monastery and place of worship for Zoroastrian adepts and Indian devotees of Shiva. The quadrogon shaped temple stands on a natural gas vent where fire rituals were practiced, like lying atop hot coals. The sanctuary has been attracting some interest of many travellers, such as Marco Polo and Alexandre Dumas.

Another natural phenomenon to see is Yanardag, flames of fire constantly burning since ancient times on a hillside near Baku. To this day, pilgrims from Iran and India come here to visit the sacred burning mountain. You'll be able to rent an electric scooter, ride local horses and find out who was the most famous Zoroastrian (surely you do know his name)

- The former mayor of the city of Lemberansky visited Venice in the late 50s. Admired by the beauty of the Italian city, the mayor decided to create an Azerbaijani «Venice» in Baku for citizens and city guests..
- The Philharmonic Garden (Filarmoniya bağı) former Governor's or Mikhailovskiy garden. Initially, mulberry, elm, pine, and acacia were planted here, but later pistachio trees, date palms, breadfruit and Persian lilac appeared. there are the State Philharmonic building and one of the most beautiful fountains in the city, created by the French comp "InterArt"

Photo-walk along the cosmic landscape in the vicinity of the most twisted building in the world.

The Cultural Center was built in 2012 under the leadership of the brilliant architect of our time, Zaha Hadid. She chose crystal white coating of entire interior and the exterior front due to her first visit back in 2007. the city looked more like a large construction site, sandstone clouds were almost everywhere.
The unique architecture of the most beautiful building, awarded "Design of the year" at the world landscape design competition in 2014. https://bit.ly/48PqryP Some call it “world's most twisted building”, no wonder at all because in fact there is not a single right angle in it. All the lines seem to flow into each other, reminiscent of waves and air currents at the same time.

в 1960 г. в Баку приезжает съемочная группа с "Ленфильма" и начинает декорировать город. На улицах появляются яркие неоновые рекламы, строится кафе на крыше одного из домов, возникают вывески "PHILIPS" и "Hotel MENOEZ".. Сам по себе вполне экзотический город, в начале 70-х, примерил на себя новый наряд и остался им очень доволен.

🧡 60 лет назад съемочная группа собиралась снимать атмосферу описанного автором города Буэнос-Айрес, а в итоге сняли настроение Баку того времени. Города, где смешалось всего понемногу, который способен надеть на себя любую личину и при этом все равно оставаться самим собой. Не удивительно что находясь в таком красивом городе, как Баку, актеры находили время, чтобы просто погулять.

🚩 Больше всего эпизодов было снято в старом городе. Какие-то улочки были развешаны вывесками и плакатами, а в каких-то местах #ИчериШехер вообще узнать трудно. Лавка Бальтазара, где #Ихтиандр знакомится с #Гуттиэре, называется "Лос Регалос Дель Мар", что в переводе с испанского значит "Дары моря", а со стороны улицы на магазине видно вывеска с названием: "Dari Moria".

👉🏼Там же снимался и один из наиболее зрелищных эпизодов фильма: прыжок Ихтиандра с крыши на крышу, расстояние почти пять метров, поэтому позвали каскадера. Этот феноменальный прыжок выполнил акробат-китаец из цирка. При приземлении он отбил себе ноги и его увезли с опухшими конечностями, заплатив бешенные по тем временам деньги - 200 рублей.

Немного о последнем землятрясении: "31.01. 1902 в Шемахе, уездном городе Бакинской губернии, выдался морозным и солнечным. Город жил своей обычной жизнью, но она была нарушена в 12:50. Под землей послышался зловещий гул и вслед за ним раздался мощный удар. Земля дрогнула и всколыхнулась.. "

An ancient Albanian church was restored in the village of Nij in the Gabala region and handed over to the Udins, one of the small indigenous peoples of Azerbaijan. Seemingly unremarkable for a country where the restoration of temples is commonplace, upon closer examination it leads to such an ancient history with the opportunity to reveal it here and now seems completely incredible.

The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Nij first opened in 1892. But according to the testimony of local residents, it was erected in the 12th cent in a place of more ancient temple, from which part of the foundation remained. The former Albanian king Urnair declared Christianity as Udins' official religion in 313, just two years after the adoption of the first edict, which began the process of legitimation Christianity in the Roman Empire.

Udins are unique, the only people of Caucasian Albania that have not assimilated with other ethnic groups and have survived to this day, existing from the middle of the 1st century BC to 461 AD. Seems like the state has nothing to do with Balkan Albania. The ruins of its two capitals, Kabala and Partav, are located near modern Azerbaijani cities of Gabala and Barda.

This restored Church called today Bulun in honor of the man who became a patron and inspired restoration of Nij monuments as a basilica, rectangular building in plan. The lower part of the walls is made of travertine mined in the Caucasus, the vaults are made of red burnt brick.

wants to share with you today a very special place Ruh Achari house in Kish, north-eastern Azerbaijan.

The house was built in 1870 by two brothers, silk merchants. Ancient looms still stand in the courtyard as part of the decoration.
Every nook and cranny tells a story: paths and walls are created from river stones that once lined the local river, tiles and window frames have been carefully restored.
The rooms feature wooden sinks and mirror frames, lovingly crafted from locally sourced wood by a local craftsman.
Today it is a unique guest house, and the heart of this home beats in the living room, where people can chat over a steaming cup of coffee or a frothy cappuccino.
And when the sun shines in the yard, you can sit on the patio listening to the sweet melodies of the local birds.

Сегодня хочу поделиться с вами особенным местом, Гест Хауз Рух Ахари в Кише, Северо-Западный Азербайджан.

Дом построен в 1870 двумя торговцами шелковыми тканями. Во дворе до сих пор стоят древние ткацкие станки, как часть декора. Каждый уголок и закоулок рассказывают свою историю: дорожки и стены созданы из речных камней, которые когда-то выстилали местную реку, плитка и оконные рамы аккуратно восстановлены. В комнатах деревянные раковины и рамы зеркал, с любовью созданные местным мастером из древесины местного региона.
Сегодня здесь расположен уникальный гест-хауз, и сердце этого дома бьется в гостиной, где могут поболтать за чашкой дымящегося кофе или пенистого капучино. А когда солнце озаряет двор, можно посидеть в патио под сладкие мелодии местных птиц.

Beauty of Inner City, Azerbaijan.

Did you know that the real name of Baku Old city is Icheri Sheher? Which means the Inner City.
Wonder why? because in the 19th century our city started to expand beyond the fortress walls, which led to the emergence of another modern city filled with new infrastructure. Up to this day, Baku is divided into an outer and an inner city.
And the funny thing is that locals still say to each other “see you in the city”, referring to the streets closest to the origin inner city.
