Malaysia's government will reopen its borders to travellers from April 1, 2022. Here's what students should know about quarantining and _COVID-19_ tests:
With Malaysia reopening its borders in its transition to an endemic phase, the protocols for travellers entering the country have also been updated.
Effective 1 April 2022, here are the testing and quarantine procedures for travellers arriving in Malaysia:
๐ข On-arrival, they will take a temperature check before undergoing any required tests.
๐ข Fully-vaccinated travellers (and travellers above the age of 18 who have gotten a booster dose):
๐ข Pre-departure: Required to take a PCR test two days before travelling.
๐ข On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test at a facility/hotel within 24 hours.
๐ข Test and quarantine after arrival: No test/quarantine required.
Fully-vaccinated travellers who were recently infected with _COVID-19_ within 60 days before departure:
๐ข Pre-departure: RTK-Ag (professional) test two days before travelling.
๐ข On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test at a facility/hotel within 24 hours.
๐ข Test and quarantine after arrival: No test/quarantine required.
๐ข Pre-departure, all travellers are also reminded to download and activate the MySejahtera application. Through the app, they are then required to complete the pre-departure form through the Traveller icon.
It is also important to note that travellers are also required to purchase _COVID-19_ & travel insurance.
