Story about how I failed.
It’s a true story and I am not ashamed to disclose how I failed. I agree on the adage that, ‘you can’t fail until you stop trying’, and I shall continue to cudgel my brains, and limited abilities to proceed to make anyone see, what we made, as country’s first solar electric vessel aiming at zero emissions, zero noise and zero pollution, while minimizing the cost to run this vessel at least 40 times less than a comparable diesel operated vessel would cost, which also won an international award being top in its class and category. Yet, I failed to attract the attention of an/any investor from Bangladesh, who preferred a foreign supplier who would charge him twice as much to build it than building it in Bangladesh, and also pay hefty tax dollars to bring it inside our national territories.
The list of my failures is summarized:
1. I did not do enough awareness campaign.
2. I did not persuade the people I know enough.
3. The people I talked to were incredulous about my abilities.
4. I did not go to the right kind of investors.
5. Since I am not a naval architect, I was not taken by people I talked to as technically sound enough to make people see; it is a 100% functioning model.
6. I could not become convincing enough that the cost to build in Bangladesh would be way lower.
7. Maybe I talked too much?
8. Any other?
