"Sugarloaf mountain, Tijuca and Christ combination tour"

We did this tour on 07/06/2016 with our guide Fernando and had an amazing day. Sadly the weather on this particular day was horrible and rained most of the day, but Fernando tried his hardest to allow us to get the best from our trip by waiting and hoping that the rain would clear and we would be able to go and see Christ with good visibility. Sadly the weather did not clear, but he did offer to take us to see Christ another day as he felt bad that we could not see the statue that day.

Fernando was very informative, and told us that if we did not want to pay the fee to go up in the cable cars of sugar loaf mountain, that we could hike up Urca mountain and still get great views. We decided on this as there were a lot of clouds, and we did not regret our choice. The hike itself was interesting, and Fernando pointed out a lot of different birds, trees and monkeys and explained what they were, including interesting uses for some of the trees such as cures for colds and pains. The view from the top was amazing and well worth the 20-25 minute hike up there.

The clouds had cleared somewhat so Fernando told us that he would drive up to Christ, but drive through downtown central Rio and show us some of the sights. He gave us a good insight into the city and it's history, explaining what many buildings were. He made a few stops at a few sights and let us go and take photos. Sadly by the time we reached Christ the weather was getting worse and raining heavily so we decided not to buy tickets and to go another day. He then took us through Tijuca forest, but sadly as it was very misty there was very little that we could see. He then suggested that he could take us around Rio a little more and see some other sights as we still had time. We stopped off at the Maracana and Sambadrome to take photos, whilst Fernando told us the history of both places and gave us time to take photos. Throughout the day he also gave us a lot of information about all of the neighbourhoods we drove through, which was really interesting and gave us a fantastic insight into the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Would definitely recommend this tour, especially if you are lucky enough to get a guide as friendly and knowledgeable as Fernando. Thank you for a great day!

My sister and I went parachuting over Rio with this company and it was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and the jump was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Seeing Rio for up above is something I'll never forget. Highly recommended! Just be prepared to dedicate at least half a day to this if not most of the day.

Finally a well deserved certificate. We don agree much with the way Trip Advisor evaluates the tour operators but still, its nice to finally get a recognition.
