Bhutan coping with corona virus (covid 19) well.
Wise decision and timely measures have helped to keep covid 19 at bay in Bhutan. So far five imported cases were detected out of which two our Americans tourists and the three were locals traveling form Europe.

Three weeks mandatory quarantine is done to all people coming to Bhutan. Visas have been stopped for a month. Front line medics with the help of volunteers are guarding all entry routes.

We hope and pray that around May covid 19 will be fully contained in Bhutan.

Bhutan is a small country with a population of about seven hundred thousand people. The main source of income of the country is tourism and hydropower.

Since 1973 Bhutan has carefully chosen tourism policy of high value low volume thus keeping away mass tourism.

In the past several years Indian tourists have double in leaps and bounds as they do not fall in the bracket of the international tourists who pay US$255/day to visit Bhutan.

This unmonitored arrival is being felt everywhere in the country and there have been unfortunate incidences.

Some simple and easy way to get Bhutan visa.
There are several ways to get Bhutan visa.

The simplest way is to travel as a tourists. Your travel agent will apply visa for you.

The other ways to get Bhutan visa is to have a friend in Bhutan who has travelled in your country or lived in your country of work for sometime. He/she will get visa for you.

This process is not easy as your friend will have to prove that he/she knows you and has lived in your country/place of work for at least few months.

The other way is to travel as a country diplomat. Your visa is applied by the Government agencies for your visit.

Things required for Bhutan visa:
1. Valid passport with more than six months validity
2. Travel itinerary
3. Hotel booking

When can you apply for a visa?
Visa is processed only on working days

How long does it take to process your visa?
If you are traveling as tourists then it will take minimum three working days. If you are traveling as a guest on someone's invitation then it will take at least two weeks.
