DRUP TSHE ZHI!
As the Nation observes Drup Tshe Zhi – the First Sermon of Lord Buddha- today, thousands of people visited Lhakhangs to offer prayers, today. Government offices and institutions also remained closed.
The fourth day of the six month is considered one of the most auspicious days in the Bhutanese calendar. It is believed that on this day, after achieving enlightenment, the Buddha gave his first sermon at the deer park in Sarnath, near modern day Varanasi, in India. It was on this day that Lord Buddha is believed to have given his first teaching on the four noble truths to his five disciples.

PHLLIC SYMBOL!
In Bhutan, the phallus is an integral part of ceremonies observed by communities, commonly used to ward off evil spirits. It comes in different shapes and sizes, carved in wood, metal, stone and cloth. It is painted on walls and hung from the eaves of houses and displayed in various forms during some traditional ceremonies. In the construction of traditional Bhutanese houses, four phalluses are placed on the four eaves of the house facing the four directions and one inside the house. These phalluses also have a dagger (Raydi) each tied to them, which are painted in five different colours.

National Council Election!
With limited time period for the National Council Election, candidates are gearing up for the day. With continuous live debate on our National Channel BBS, we get to see and hear various ideology and promises!

It seems that its a battle between the Experiences, the Senior Citizen and the young and fresh faces!
Going by their speech, some say, "we gained lots experience from the past 5 years tenure as a Councillor", that's from the former Councillor. Well, the younger and freshers say, "Don't think we are young and lack experience, when one have the responsibilities, experiences come naturally, so don't neglect the young candidates".

Whatever may be their saying, the people got lots choices to choose among them, be it Experienced or the New Comer!

One thing the public have to keep in mind is their precious VOTE. Never do we get to vote frequently, their one vote counts a lot. Keeping in mind our ONE VOTE will count for the next significant 5 years, so urge the people to make it a point that they never let the Election day pass Un-VOTE!

All the best CANDIDATES!

Usually at this time, people are busy rushing form door to door, offices to offices and when i write this i don't mean all the citizens. People who wants to book a seat in the parliament, our future Hon'ble MPs, the Law Makers are the ones who are really busy...!!!

May be this is the most heart stoking moment for them and the most important decision making votes for the people. Matter not what promises they make, voters should be well educated by now to make the right choice as the Law Maker.
