Beautiful traditional structures are often made from wooden frames , rammed earth exterior walls and stone and earth retaining walls. No plans are drawn up,nor are nails or iron bars allowed in construction. Goodness architectures always blends with nature, using locally sourced material such as stone, timber and rammed Earth to make its building. Apart from few modern buildings and structures, there are 3 major types of traditional building and architectural designs in Bhutan 1)Dzongs 2) typical traditional Bhutanese house 3) religious structures and chortens.
