Well folks after several weeks of back and forth discussions, we are thrilled to announce that the 160th (!) Antigonish Highland Games will take place as planned from July 6-13th, 2025. Thank you so much to StFX University for helping us find a solution that works for everyone! We are so fortunate to have you in our corner, and we can't wait to once again welcome everyone to Columbus field for our biggest games yet!

We can't wait to see you there!!!

Antigonish Councils Condemn Racism: Reaffirm Commitment to Inclusivity and Safety for All

The following is a joint statement from Mayor Boucher and Warden McCarron and their respective councils:

Antigonish is a community built on the values of respect, inclusivity, and diversity. Our town and county are home to people of many nationalities, cultures, and religions, all of whom contribute to the richness and vibrancy of our shared community.

It is with deep concern and sadness that we address incidents of racism targeting our Muslim community members that occurred earlier this summer. Such actions stand in direct opposition to the values that we hold dear. Antigonish is, and always will be, a welcoming community—a place where everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs, is invited to plant roots, grow, and thrive.

We are committed to ensuring that all our public spaces and neighborhoods are safe, welcoming, and respectful for everyone. Racism and discrimination have no place in our community. We must all stand together to reject hate in all its forms and to support our neighbors, friends, and colleagues from all walks of life.

We call on every resident to uphold the principles of respect, kindness, and understanding that define us as a community. Let us continue to work together to ensure that Antigonish remains a place where diversity is celebrated and where everyone feels valued and at home.

Looking to attend the Antigonish Highland Games but can’t find a place? We just received a last minute cancellation for the group set to arrive today. The available dates are July 10-15. We accommodate up to 7 guests in a beautiful rural location in Western Antigonish County. Grab your kilt!

Introducing....Lobster Gals! Serving lobster rolls, lemonade, chips and lobster dip! At the market this Saturday the 29th, and throughout the summer!

They've got something "cracking"! Lynn and Emilie both have a love of a local delicacy, lobster - especially lobster rolls.

Starting this Saturday, they will be selling lobster rolls, lobster dip and lemonade at the Antigonish Farmers Market!

They have been like America's Test Kitchen - preforming taste tests, product tests and rating the results. They've had a lot of fun and have come up with a taste bud pleasing blend served on a brioche bun. They will also have a few dip options to suit different tastes.

Good Morning April and Smitty,

I need to pass on my appreciation for your outstanding accommodations and hospitality we experienced at your Eigg Mountain Escape. Traveling for the purpose of enjoying ATV trails far from home brings on unique challenges not accustomed to touring by car and your "Escape" provided us with those unique things. Ample parking for our vehicles, easy access to the trails, plus the advice and guidance from Smitty to where to go and how to get there including a guided tour of his own. Meals are always another issue in this style of vacation but because of your overwhelming effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible you delivered lobsters and even a grocery order. Your accommodations are totally relaxing especially after a day of riding mountains and the attention to detail for your amenities is the best we've ever experienced. Never before did we have fresh bread waiting for us and so we used it to make lobster sandwiches for our first meal and had left over sandwiches the next day for a trail lunch. I could continue however, I just want to pass on how impressed and satisfied all of our group was with your Eigg Mountain Escape, will be promoting your place to anyone considering staying in your area and can say with fairly good certainty that we'll be back.
