🔥 LEVEL 1 FIRE BAN NOW IN EFFECT!🔥

May 19, 2023: Level 1 fire ban is in effect for Greater Madawaska due to EXTREME risk!

What does this mean for me?
- Within the Township of Greater Madawaska, no person may set, maintain or allow ANY open air fire at ANY time.
- All burn permits are SUSPENDED and no new burn permits will be issued during this fire ban.

… but it’s the long weekend, can I still have a campfire? What about my fireworks?
- Exceptions to the current ban include: campfires, enclosed BBQs (charcoal or propane fuelled), outdoor furnaces, and fireworks.

Reminders:
- Please, PLEASE be extremely cautious with your campfires and/or fireworks when celebrating this weekend, and throughout the duration of this fire ban.
- This Level 1 ban is for the safety of our residents and our beautiful Township. Please help us keep Greater Madawaska a safe place for everyone to enjoy!
