Woohoo! Thanks to Flying Squirrel North Calgary and GlobalFest Calgary for the tickets to Thursday nights firework show! I won a contest this morning.
Globalfest is an awesome themed fireworks show. And the Flying Squirrel is a super fun trampoline park that we've spent some time at. We're due for a good jump session again soon!

And it's my birthday week! 😊

Bus shelters all smashed from the hail in Beddington. There were multiple in this condition this morning. That hail was extreme

The hail was brutal. The sound was horrible. The jeep is dented. I'm sad 😔
But lucky really. Windows were smashed out all around the north of the city. At least my windows are ok 🤷‍♀️

Nanton Round-Up Days is not over yet! All August long weekend the small community of Nanton puts on a fantastic community event. From rodeos, Chilli cooking competition, kids fair, free swimming, tours of the grain elevators and they are even firing up the Lancaster Bomber at 2pm today! The parade is always a fun time. The amount of candy they give out is crazy fun haha

I found a geocache that has not been found and logged since March 2016! Over 8 years 😱

It was in pretty good shape considering 🤩

Geocaching brings me to some awesome hidden spots. This was definitely one of them.

With the firebans everywhere this year, I'm finally getting some good use out of my propane fire pit. I bought it about 4 years ago, and it has come in handy a few times. But this year it's the never ending fire ban (for good reason), so it's a nice addition to the camping gear.

🏕 Campground Feature Day 19 🏕

💥Phyllis Lake Campground💥

This is a gorgeous small campground in central Alberta 🇨🇦, west of Caroline. Overlooking Phyllis Lake, there are 21 various size unserviced sites on a First Come First Serve system.

🌟 Bonus Points. There are multiple lakes around this area if you go out adventuring. All are fantastic for swimming, fishing, paddleboarding and more. Additionally, you're only 1 hour away from Ram Falls when staying here.

I was away in the woods for a bit. Continuing on with the campgrounds for a few more days. Then maybe I'll do a waterfall a day.

💥Bow Island Centennial Park Campground💥

This prairie campground is located east of Taber Alberta 🇨🇦 in the town of Bow Island. This large campground is self registration and first come first serve. Large sites available in a North and South loop. Between the loops is a big playground and Splash Pad! There are group use camping areas as well.

🌟 Bonus Points! Bow Island is the bean capital of western Canada, and with that, you can visit the world's largest pinto bean. Pinto MacBean lives along Hwy 3 at the tourist information centre. Additionally, there is an amazing bakery with a cute name- The Rolling Pin Bakery. Definitely recommend a stop in for some coffee and donuts while in the area!
