The cottage, which sleeps eight and is wheel chair accessible on the main floor, boasts more than 1600+ square feet of living space with three bedrooms and one and a half baths. The cottage owners, who adore PEI, spent more than three years searching for the ideal cottage design and location. What’s more, countless hours were spent planning and working with a custom builder at Driftwood Landing to create a one-of-a-kind authentic PEI cottage experience. As no expense was spared, guests are sure to experience nothing less than complete relaxation, comfort and convenience. In the spacious and bright gourmet kitchen, guests will find an abundance of custom maple cabinetry, quartz counter tops, four stainless steel GE appliances, a full compliment of small appliances by Kitchen Aid and Cuisinart (including an ice cream maker and espresso maker), and a wide selection of PEI’s own Paderno pots, including a 16 L stock pot large enough for an old fashioned lobster boil. Guests will enjoy dining at an informal oversize custom kitchen island that seats 6 in an open concept kitchen/living room area. Other high-end finishes throughout, include leather furniture, a built in stereo surround sound system, remote control air conditioning, air exchanger, WiFi Internet, telephone - with free long-distance calls to 80 countries - and Eastlink cable TV service. The focal point of the main living area is a large gas fireplace with a wall-mounted 60 inch Smart LG TV over the fireplace and a Yamaha 5.1 audio system, LG DVD and CD players and built in Polk surround sound stereo speakers, centre channel and sub-woofer, which are sure to please even the most discerning audiophile. The living area is furnished with a Natuzzi sofa, loveseat and recliner, which are finished in deep red leather. Overlooking the living area is a spacious loft designed for comfort with a sofa bed, two leather Natuzzi chairs that recline, swivel and rock, and a sofa bed, a 32” LG TV, not to mention a stunning west-facing view of the Atlantic Ocean and PEI National Park ... a great place to start the day with a morning coffee or just relax and watch the sun set in the evening. The interior will give guests a definite 'PEI Feel' with artwork by Patrice Wolput, Al Bergan and Denis Mayer Jr. depicting local indigenous wildlife such as foxes (which love to play out in the open on the south end of PEI National Park to the delight to visitors), eagles and waterfowl. Guests will also find the décor has an island feel with an 8’ fishing dory hanging in the loft and authentic lobster traps (that were used by local fishermen) converted for use as unique kitchen pot racks! The master bedroom has a Serta iSeries Comfort king size bed with two night tables, a large dresser and a flat screen TV and spacious closet. The upstairs bedrooms also have Serta iSeries mattresses, with a queen size bed in one bedroom and two twin size beds, with a décor that will be sure to delight children, in the other. Each bedroom is spacious with large closets, luxury pillows, silk duvets for optimal summer comfort, and high end linens. And for full privacy, each window in the cottage has custom-made wooden vertical blinds. For guests with young children, the west south facing second floor bedroom also has a comfortable leather chair that rocks, reclines and swivels, which is ideal for rocking an infant or toddler to sleep after a long fun filled day at the beach in comfort. On the main level is a large master 4 piece bath, fully equipped with GE front load washer and dryer, which are mounted on pedestals for added convenience, and a separate laundry sink. The second floor has a nicely appointed 2-piece bath with custom built cabinetry. Moreover, the cottage owners have not overlooked guests' outdoor experience by including a large over sized 600 square foot wrap around deck (that offers both sun and shade options throughout the day), commercial grade Charbroil stainless gas BBQ, 10 Muskoka style chairs and 5 end tables, all custom painted in red, green, yellow, tan, and blue, numerous railing mounted market umbrellas for guests seeking a break from the sun. This magnificent outdoor living area also features a Pfister stainless steel outdoor shower panel that allows guests to just cool down on a hot day or rinse off after a day at the beach. And just outside the front door, for the gourmet chef, is two large planters filled with various kitchen herbs. This luxury cottage, brand new for 2014, is fully equipped to meet the needs of the most discerning guests and even includes use of a free full seasons pass to Prince Edward Island National Park and Cavendish Beach!
