What’s our favourite one of the quirkiest towns in Ontario? Gravenhurst of course!

Recently, Gravenhurst was featured in WorldAtlas’ article “7 Of The Quirkiest Towns In Ontario”. The article highlighted various aspects of our town including: Norman Bethune House, the Gravenhurst Opera House, Sawdust City Brewery and more!

The article also mentions the Carnegie Library, which makes for a good trivia question. Do you know what is currently in the Carnegie Library?

Gravenhurst’s very own Larry Carroll () is having his work featured in the largest outdoor photography exhibit in Canadian history!

His artwork, titled “Mother and Son Reunion”, will be one of 130 pieces that will be featured on the fencing through out the grounds of Exhibition Place in Toronto during this year’s Canadian National Exhibition. You can find “Mother and Son Reunion” at the north west corner of the CNE in the Kids Zone park, on the north fence.

Congratulations Larry on this incredible achievement! We hope to see more of your amazing work featured in more shows like this in the future!

Who’s heard the outstanding voices of the Timberbeast Productions crew echoing through our town the past couple weeks?! Casually swinging in my hammock chair last night (which fellow audience members were definitely envious of!) felt like a blissful summer dream; the sun setting over Muskoka Bay, silhouetting our beloved ships, and the incredibly talented individuals vocally laying out their souls for all to absorb and embrace, man, the Arts are for sharing and Timberbeast does it so well!🎭💕

Anyway, catch their last show of the Music for a Muskoka Night series TONIGHT! Down at Wharf! Maybe get a little icecream to enjoy with the tunes, or a pre-show cocktail on the BP patio perhaps? Let the 60’s and 70’s roll! Peace and love, man✌🏽💁🏼‍♀️

Battle for The Barge Winner Nights presents VanHillert. The night will be filled with a variety of hits from the 50s & 60s!

Although the festival is taking place at a new location this year (Gull Lake Rotary Park), there is no doubt that the experience will still be amazing!
