HISTORY!!

This week, international delegates gathered at the and officially adopted the High Seas Treaty — a huge step forward for the protection of our shared ocean.⁠
⁠
With its adoption, the treaty is now open to be signed and ratified. 60 countries will need to ratify the treaty for it to become international law.⁠
⁠
We're grateful for the more than 175,000 supporters who urged leaders to finalize this historic agreement. Thank you everyone who sign the petition with me. That public support, along with the great work of partners like RISE UP, , and , helped bring us to this moment. Together, we can -- and we will -- secure the protection and management of the largest frontier on the planet: the high seas.

It may not seem like an obvious relation; however, living a slower life and practicing mindfulness can in turn, create more sustainable habits.

Being intentional about our food waste, where we buy clothing, how much energy we are consuming throughout the day are just a few small examples of mindful behaviours that promote both wellness and sustainable living.

This year’s theme “Planet Ocean: Tides are changing” is intended to help us understand how truly majestic, and vital our oceans are.

If you’re not doing this yet, you’re missing out.

Have you ever considered your mindfulness throughout the day (Ex: mindful eating, intentional breathing, movement, lowering your stress level, etc.)?

Most of us unfortunately don’t - however; to live slowly, it is important to build intentional moments throughout our day to “reset” the stress buildup.

One easy way to do that is nature. Listen to it, look at it, immerse yourself in it.

Even looking at an image or video is helpful.

So today, take a moment to build mindfulness in your day; in whichever way that works for you.
