Chinook salmon are open for business!…
Our local Chinook salmon opened for retention this past Monday (July/15) and it was an amazing week of fishing! “Fish-on” Britt!…French Creek’s own Brittany Klotz of Hooked Barbershop & Hair Lounge finally spent some time in her new backyard on the “Western Star”.
She was able to catch her mom some fresh fish for Mother’s Day-

“Beginners Luck”! Corey Hoodikoff and wife Kelly from Parksville, BC wanted to bring out John Hoodikoff (Corey’s dad) from Cranbrook, BC out on a little fishing adventure…Well, guess who caught the biggest salmon? Lol. We even capped the day off with a celebratory beer at the French Creek Marine Pub! We truly have a magical place we call home-

“Girl Power”!…When Zelda and Brooklyn Durant (age 8 & 12) from Oakland, Ca came up with mom Andrea to visit Grandma Charna Macfie of Parksville, BC there was a thought to go Fishin’-
I think they’ll be back next year!
They even brought their own fishing net! Lol.

“Momma Bear”! Doug, Lisa, and son Seth Greening from Calgary, AB with a nice limit of Chinook salmon on the “Western Star”!
We even caught a pink salmon which I was most impressed with! Lisa’s fish was 79 cm just making it under the maximum size of 80 cm. Special thanks to Bill Swanson for recommending me, missing you out here buddy!
