Downtown Port Colborne

Downtown Port Colborne Welcome to Downtown Port Colborne BIA. A vibrant and diverse business district.
(24)

Downtown Port Colborne is a BIA (Business Improvement Area), representing the businesses in the canal district. Our role is to promote and market the businesses, to beautify, enhance, and preserve the downtown core, including our cultural assets and historical buildings. The BIA promotes and markets the downtown area as a destination to shop, dine, work, and explore. We also work closely with the City of Port Colborne and other community partners to promote economic and community development.

This is just a sample of the many new scarves we have brought in from CRC. CRC works with artisan groups in India and helps develop economic self-sufficiency for the vulnerable segment of society. They provide marketing, design, finance and exporting assistance to the groups which in turn makes for a wonderful level of cooperation.

Come by and check out all the new stock! Or look online for a taste of what we have.

Thank you to all our supportive Downtown businesses who donated to 2 beautiful fathers day baskets. Rosemari(chair) and Ben(director), drew the lucky winners, over the weekend. Congratulations to Erin and Jackelyn. We know they shared these great baskets with an amazing Dad. Thank you again, to all of our downtown businesses for supporting BIA initiatives. A special thank you to Ben and Lisa from Port Side Petals & Gifts for helping coordinate the Mother's and fathers day draws. ❤️

Our Fair Trade Quilling cards from Vietnam have been a hit from the first day they arrived in the store. Painstakingly handcrafted by artisans that have been trained for months on different designs, each card is a work of art. We have many new designs to choose from, yet behind each one is a story of an artisan being paid fairly and their families that benefit. Come by soon and stock up, it’s great to have cards on hand when you need them.

Our Story

Welcome to Downtown Port Colborne's historic Canal District, a vibrant and diverse neighbourhood with dining, shopping, art, history and events! It is designed as a business improvement area by the City of Port Colborne.

A Business Improvement Area (BIA) is a “made-in-Ontario” innovation that allows local business people and commercial property owners and tenants to join together and, with the support of the municipality, to organize, finance, and carry out physical improvements and promote economic development in their district.

A Business Improvement Area is a self-help mechanism designed to assist local business people and property owners in upgrading and promoting their business and shopping district to further trade and commerce in their area.
