Happy New Year lake friends! Here’s to your health, wellbeing and seeing you in 2021!

We are on about day four of some major crow-eagle action at the lake.

We have been seeing/hearing not only the neighbourhood pair of mated eagles, but simultaneously, up to three juveniles.

We have a theory (?) that the adults are trying to help the young ones establish a new territory here on the lake, and that's what's got the crows so upset. Thoughts? Stories?

We have also had our usual migratory ducks which we love to see such as buffleheads and common mergansers, plus a rare appearance of a juvenile trumpeter swan.

We had been hearing a great horned owl, and one evening, we saw an owl perched on the cedar railings that protect the top lawn, hunting.

So that’s the big news update from here! Hope you’re doing well and keeping safe!
