I feel like I’m losing a part of my soul. The more information I see about the fires in Jasper, the more my heart is breaking.

If you are reading this, you know I love Jasper and I shoot there a lot. Solo trips, weekend getaways, couple sessions, and even spontaneous day trips for a hike.

Out of all the places I have travelled, Jasper is my favourite place in the world. ❤️

I am sending all of my love to the first responders and everyone evacuated. Homes are being lost, places we all loved to stay at are gone, and our hearts are heavy tonight.

I spend last week hiking in the backcountry to Mount Assiniboine with some amazing people!

As a photographer, I have dream locations and couples. THIS WAS THE DREAM! ✨

There aren’t words for capturing a love like this in such a beautiful and remote location. This mountain truly took my breath away, but being able to do what I love here was emotional.

Capturing this feeling and location, in a portrait will always fill my cup and keep me beyond grateful I get to do this for life 🤍

I met with a 2025 couple recenlty and had a wonderful conversation about the things they want most at their wedding. We chatted about how the bride had 3 things she really cared about and how the groom wanted his bride to be happy, but also wants a fun party!

We chatted about what kind of party they wanted and how they had to create that energy. Too many times couples really want a "party" but don't have to plan to make it happen. If you want something at your wedding, make it happen. Don't hope people dance, or hope your guests stay and have fun, create a plan and make it happen!

I have so many tips and tricks to help make your wedding memorable and YOURS. We chatted about some ideas to get people on the dance floor, pump up the party at 10pm when things usually wind down, and how to keep everyone having a great time!

I love sharing all of tips with my couples to help them create the perfect day for them.

Wedding tip of the day: Embrace the weather. 🌦️

Too often couples worry about the weather and having the 'perfect' day. I promise, if you stop stressing and just embrace whatever the day throws at you, you will have the most amazing day (and epic phots). My most artistic portraits some from rain, wind, snow, smoke, etc.

PS. This is also why you should hire a professional who knows how to shoot in different conditions and has a plan with you before hand!

T + B got married yesterday in a blizzard and it was pure magic. They are a DREAM COUPLE! 🤍

The snow let up a little for us to get some classic portraits outside (image 3). BUT my favorite images from the day are in ALL the snow and -25 (image 2 & 5❄️).

Fun fact: Image 5 was their blizzard “golden hour” and by far one of my favorite images ✨

When I meet with my wedding couples, we always talk about how they are making there wedding special to them. Not the Pinterest perfect details, but the small personal details. A button from grandmas dress, a shot for a loved one, a special anniversary slow dance at your reception... the more meaningful, the more you and your guest will remember it. Tara & Ben are doing so many small things and I am beyond excited to capture their day and the special details.

Grateful for all the 2023 gave me ✨

From Canadian Wedding Photographer of the Year to being on team Canada for 2024 World Photographic Cup and everything in between. This year was full of love and some hardware. 🏆

I am excited to share that I brought Help Portrait back to Edmonton this year! This was my first year as the organizer of the event and I will be doing this again next year!

Help-Portrait is about GIVING the pictures, not taking them. It’s about giving people who otherwise couldn’t afford photography, a chance to capture a moment, a memory…and a whole lot more.

On Saturday we found people in need, did their hair and makeup, had a wardrobe area they could take clothes from, took their picture, printed their picture and then delivered it— all free of charge.

We are so thankful we had some amazing people who helped make the day happen. Jan Folk for a generous donation to make the day happen, McBain Camera for donating all of the 8x10 prints, Edmonton Public Library for giving us the beautiful Makers Space, and all of the volunteers that made the day possible!

Together we gave over 200 people a photo and heard so many stories about why people wanted their portrait taken. Stories about people being away from family and now having something to send back home, stories about kids wanting this so they have something to give their grandparents for christmas, stories about families that have never been able to have a family photo before.

I am so grateful to my friends, family, and photography community for helping me make this event possible. We gave people some joy on Saturday and had some very happy tears.
