Happy Canada Day. I have gone back and forth about posting, as I don’t actually feel celebratory today. I am proud to be Canadian, but I am not proud of our past. I am now aware, and can help move forward from here. I love my country, but we are clearly not perfect. We need to recognize our countries political role in the past, respect those that have been robbed of life, language, culture, and future and hold those responsible accountable. I am only a proud Canadian because of those that were here before us, so thank you to the indigenous communities from west to east that are our true founding fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers.

Reports say that the federal government will announce today (June 9) that fully vaccinated Canadians returning from overseas by air will no longer have to undergo mandatory hotel quarantine. Changes to border measures and quarantine are also coming soon.
