About 10 years ago, I had the privilege to travel to Greenland on a small expedition ship. It was magical. What might you see in Greenland? What might your experience be? Watch this video to get a sense. #quarkexpeditionsarctic2025

My first of 3 trips this month. Montreal here I come. I'm travelling via #viarailcanada - and I've got to say, business class is well worth it. The food has been great! Looking forward to reconnecting with a HS friend from Labrador City, where I attended Labrador City Collegiate from grades 9 to 11. Formidable years as they day!
We spent 3 nights in Capadoccia. After the 1st night, we did a hot air balloon ride. And after the 2nd night, we took a taxi to see the balloons on the ground. Both were fabulous. From the ground, you get to experience a lot of the Instagram prep.

Last night, we had a surreal experience at Village Igloo - an actual igloo in the French Alps not far from the village of Montvalezan. Imagine sitting in an intimate room, on wooden logs and benches eating warm cheese fondue with wonderful wine and incredible myrtille tarts or a waffle topped with Natella and chantilly cream.
We were escorted to and from the Igloo from town as it was right on a ski slope.

Soweto Towers - Originally, these coal-generating energy towers provided electricity to Johannesburg but nothing to Soweto, where the towers existed... other than toxic fumes. Mandela, upon his release, had these shut down. They have been repurposed for a bungee jumping platform, a freeform falling platform (to a trampoline), and a superfun beer and grill restaurant. We experienced the latter two :-)
Wallis Bay Namibia yesterday morning! Such a great day!
Train stations can be pretty intimidating.
Hint 1: Arrive early so that you can get your bearings.
Hint 2: Look for signage that lets you know which area of the train station you should be in.
Hint 3: Plant yourself near the gates so that you are ready to board when boarding starts.
Here in Gare de Lyon, I first noticed the big overhanging sign that said Hall 1 - okay then; there is more than 1 hall. I found a massive sign over the Starbucks that indicated my train was in Hall 2. I matched the train number with the time - because the final destination is beyond my exit point and didn't match my ticket.
I found Hall 2 but couldn't see which track it was on... So just watched the monitors over the tracks and sure enough after an announcement (which I couldn't understand), people moved to the tracks, which alerted me to the sign and voila, my train was boarding.
Now I'm in my comfy seat soon on my way to Dijon.
And this is how you make the best authentic Turkish coffee! Loving Istanbul!
