Evora’s chapel of the bones both fascinating and eerie at the same time. Definitely a contemplative approach to the fragility and impermanence of life. These corpses are immortalized within its walls. No one knows who they are other than citizens of the area that were unearthed to make room when the cemetery was overcrowded. Inscription over the door reads “Our bones are here we await yours.” 🇵🇹
