Wiseman Counselling Services Suzanne specializes in Trauma & Attachment, is trained in EMDR and offers Neuroptimal Neurofeedback. Remember, it takes a strong person to ask for help.

My practice practice is inclusive and diverse, consisting of clients who seek help with such difficult life experiences as; trauma, stress, grief, separation, family problems, depression and anxiety. In therapy we work towards understanding issues and through this process learn how we arrived in our current mind frame in the first place. I specialize in trauma, loss, grief and attachment with chil

dren, adolescents and adults and use a number of approaches which are tailored to meet your individual needs. Some of the techniques I use include art therapy, mindfulness training, and psychodynamic therapy. I use a respectful, flexible and non-judgmental approach to counselling, based on the belief my clients have untapped strengths and resilience. If you would like to work with a non-judgmental and caring therapist, I encourage you to take the first step and contact me. Counselling can help you (or your child) become more self-aware and understand the reasons why you behave and react in the way you do. It helps to find the real you. In therapy your strengths and resilience are honoured. You will be listened to, respected, and supported without judgement. You may come to understand coping strategies you’ve used to manage pain and difficult emotions and decide to explore new and healthier ways to manage challenges you face in everyday life. This will help you to move forward from painful or frustrating life experiences. The next step is taking on the work and making a commitment once you have chosen to make an investment in yourself.

I hope your pasta is never overcooked & you learn to season things by feel & your anxious mind is quieter & your socks don’t slide into your boots & no underwire ever pokes you in your breast & the microwave heats your food evenly & you find a lovely bookstore & a new favourite snack & you don’t debate humanity with anyone & you have great water pressure & your healthcare providers believe & support you & you find a hairstylist you can trust & you get a seat in transit & you don’t lose your charger or pen & you form a new friendship that grounds you and reminds you how much is still out there for you.

Make Time For Yourself

How often do we hear this message and how often do we follow through? I am guilty of that myself.

Time for yourself doesn’t have to always be a chunk of time. It can be taking more time for breakfast, noticing the sunshine or garden (in your neighbourhood or your garden), putting your phone away for an hour, listening to your favourite tunes in the car…… the list goes on.

How do you incorporate time for yourself? Remember, you are important under all circumstances.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

There’s not much more to elaborate on these words. We cannot change our life journey that brought us to where we are. We can start where we are and build upon it. Focus on what we have, not on comparisons and wishes. Make the best of the skills and insights we have and build upon them. Trust that “doing what we can” will bring results and change. And trust we will learn from our actions.
