Making memories with Capt. Dave's fishing tours, Twillingate, NL. This little boy will be able to share this experience with his many friends as he speaks French, English and German fluently and will not soon forget his first cod fish. He was delighted to release his cod, hooked just by the lip. Happy little boy!

Sharing just a couple photos of many different scenes and experiences for those tourists all the way from Germany, on our morning tour Canada Day, 2024. No tour is complete without a stop at the old homestead at Tizzard's Hr. and a discussion about the fishing industry and the changes seen in a lifetime. This is my lobster traps on the dock where father's fishing stage stood, and his fish store and netloft which was at one time the harbour school. Experiential tourism focuses on experiencing a country or particular place by actively and meaningfully experiencing its history and culture and that is the focus of our tours at present. Whether it's hauling a lobster trap, watching the magnificient eagles and osprey, or engaging with fisherpeople, like my friends here hauling their herring net for lobster bait its an experience not soon forgotten. Photo of some of our fishing heritage endeavours, Prime Berth, named thus in honor of the annual Cod trap berth draw in which every fisherman hoped to draw from the brown paper bag, the Prime Berth, or best spot in the community area to set the cod trap. Father was the chair of the cod trap committee at Tizzard's Hr for 40 years, and I recall as a boy, the fishermen would gather in our kitchen, nervously smoking their cigarette, as they picked from the bag, which father passed around, the coming summer berth for their cod trap and the lucky person drawing out the little piece of cardboard on which Father had printed " Little Rock " might have something under the Christmas tree, a little special this year. I know I posted this photo earlier from summer 2023 ( Whale breaching Long Point, Twillingate ) and of course right away a troll suggested that this was not a real capture, but a photo shopped phony. That aside, just looking through my 2023 images tonight and this one stands out as a shot of a lifetime and decided to post again for the enjoyment of viewers. By the way had a professional photographer and his wife and son with me that evening and he and I both snapped our shots almost the same time. Bet he got the best whale shot in Germany!
