very sad news. Kitzinger, an anthropologist and a natural childbirth advocate, will be missed by many. She was truly an inspiration for me to become involved in my birthing community. It is thanks to her that we have birth plans and our sisters to support us on the transition to motherhood.
I wish her journey be peaceful to wherever she may be now.

Author and anthropologist Sheila Kitzinger - who wrote more than 25 books on childbirth - has died at her Oxfordshire home at the age of 86.
