If you are ever in the market for top notch rain pants or booties, Taiga makes the best I've found so far. They also have a great selection of other rain gear, warm gear, etc. Of course the weather has finally turned but I'm posting this just in case winter comes back!!!

FYI, items made locally in Vancouver. If the bottom of your booties wear out, they can easily fix them up for you in no time flat. No need to buy another set, just repair the bottom.

We are not alone...crazy close calls from the UK. My take = ride like you are invisible and expendable!!! Many drivers just don't care and will do whatever crazy and unsafe act to pass you! Ride safe folks.

If you think we have cry baby hills to contend with around the Lower Mainland, check out this video of Stage 17 of the Tour de France to be used in July 2018. Incredible scenery. Maybe good for a VBMG weekend ride, ha ha ha!!!

Stage 17 will cover just 65 kilometres - but there a three cols to get up, including the finish on the Portet

I don't think a study was needed but I guess the stats help. This option should be a no-brainer anyways! The leggings being fluorescent is a great idea. Similarly, that's why at night we see the odd cyclist who doesn't use lights or reflective wear but we see their pedals moving up and down from the small reflectors built in to their pedals. So leg wear that is reflective AND fluorescent would make a great improvement to a cyclist's visibility, day or night. Also in this article is a comment about wearing light colours during daytime...I think that is not totally true. If you are wearing light colours against a light sky, you have no contrast to your background, thus blending in and making it hard for a motorist to spot you. Opposite at night (dark colours with dark background). So...a multi-coloured jersey/jacket having light, dark and fluorescent markings may work best. Our rides take us in and out of dark shaded areas, into bright sunny areas and some days just plain gloomy overcast weather. And maybe then ride home after dark. Best to have a jersey/jacket that accounts for all conditions...and of course, what the article is promoting, fluorescent cycling leggings/pants. Be as visible as you can but ride like you are invisible!!!
