A family of 3 & a crazy whippet living aboard and sailing the Gulf Islands of BC, after spending 4 years onboard exploring Mexico! One word- AWESOME.

The Bloom Crew is a family of three with a crazy whippet who adores every human being on this planet. They sold their house and belongings in 2014 to embark on an adventure aboard their Bavaria 40, s/v Bloom. They left from Victoria, BC, in the summer of 2016 and headed South. This adventuresome trio is currently living aboard and has sailed the West Coast, Sea of Cortez and Pacific Mexico down to

We had an epic weekend at Princess Louisa Inlet with memories to last a lifetime. This place is absolutely stunning! So glad we got to check this off our bucket list and had amazing weather and warm water for swimming too. ⛵️⚓️😊🙌🏽

Bloom got a new galley faucet today! It only took 3.5 hrs to install 😂 No easy projects on a boat… the old faucet was corroded on.

Project cooling system completed! I had to dismantle the heat exchanger and matrix, take it to a shop to clean and fix fill cap. Then I ordered a new exhaust elbow and all the relevant gaskets and reinstalled. Finally changed the impeller and oil and we are ready for the summer!

A local beekeeper came down and magically gathered the swarm into a special box. Once the queen was inside, the rest followed right behind. The honeybees will be relocated to a safe place to make their hive. Amazing to see!

Crossing the line in Les Sables-d'Olonne, Kirsten Neuschäfer wins the Golden Globe Race. She becomes the first woman to win a solo, non-stop round-the-world race.
