28 years since Dilwale Dulhania La Jayenge was released in 1995, the flame of this epic romance betweeen Raj and Simran remains alight in the hearts of so many of us worldwide.
It touches me to repeatedly experience, during my “DDLJ Tours,” that a younger, second generation of DDLJ devotees is emerging, whose passion for the movie matches those of us old enough to remember its premiere.
On this day, our heartfelt thanks go to Aditya Chopra, to the inspirational YRF dynasty and to all the actors, actresses and crew who made this timeless, love film possible.
Roll on a third generation !

SIFAA is proud to present the Sangeetha Kalanidhis Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan and Smt. Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi. Children of the legendary maestro Sri Lalgudi G. Jayaraman, they are the torchbearers of the Lalgudi Bani, a style of playing the violin that very closely follows and imitates the human voice.
We are delighted to host them on *Friday, the 10th of June at 18:00* at *Stauffacherstrasse 10, 8004 Zürich*; doors open at 17:30.

17th Anniversary of “Veer Zaara”, one of my all-time favourite films, released on 12th November 2004.
Directed by the late great Yash Chopra-ji, it is truly one of the most touching and romantic of films.
Indeed it ranks among Indian Cinema's most popular romances ever! and was partially shot here in Switzerland.
Every time I watch it, I have to make sure in advance that I have enough tissues on hand for the scene where Zaara enters the courtroom 😢 😅

Today marks the 21stAnniversary of the release of Mohabbatein (“love stories” in English) Aditya Chopra’s second romantic masterpiece after DDLJ by the son of the late great Yash Chopraji.

It remains one of my all-time favourite Indian movies, the storyline and songs deeply touching my life, ever since I first watched it on TV, together with my daughter.

One 21st October, many years back, we spontaneously grabbed my laptop, a blanket and a DVD copy of the film and set forth, determined to track down shooting locations of those scenes shot in the Bernese highlands. Blessed with golden autumn weather, we did indeed finally discover one particularly famous location and I remember watching, overwhelmed with joy as my daughter danced ecstatically singing “On this bridge Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan danced together in Mohabbatein . . . “

In our joyful moment together, making our own little pilgrimage to honour our heroes, was, I realise, also the genesis of what was to become my new calling.
I founded Erwin Tours of Switzerland - and each Bollywood tour that I conduct, guiding others to favourite shooting locations, still ignites the same love and passion within me that I felt then.

Today, the 27th October is also my wedding anniversary ! At the time, it was the first suitable date offered us by the registry office. I smile remembering that, only later was I to realise - we had chosen the release date of one of my favourite romances, Mohabbatein.
