leAD launched its first program in 2017. leAD focuses on driving growth through smart investment, premier network access, and expert training in the following core principles: leadership, commercial, finance, legal & IP, fundraising, and strategy. With 30 companies under its portfolio, leAD is constantly empowering founders to create their own legacy. Inspired by Adi Dassler, leAD has three three investment vehicles – Academy, Portfolio, and ADvantage Fund.

The leAD Sports & Health Tech Academy supports and grows early-stage sports & health tech startups globally. The academy spans both on- and offline programs – one in Berlin (Germany) and one in Lake Nona (Orlando, U.S.) – focused on leveraging visionary solutions in the realm of fan engagement, connected athletes, health & well-being. So far, leAD has had three successful cohorts and is currently sourcing for cohort 4 and 5.

The leAD Portfolio team is responsible for seed-stage investments and portfolio management. They invest in the most promising startups coming out of the Academy to establish a long-term relationship with founders. In parallel, they work closely with the portfolio startups to provide continuous support in critical areas including strategy, commercial, and fundraising. This hands-on approach enables founders to focus on value creation activities and maximize growth.
